For those of us who like a flutter this thread may come in helpfull.
I think the bookie can be got at in GAA matches due to us posters having a good knowledge of local teams.

I am trying to put an Accum together for the weekend and would like to spread my picks, so what im asking is for lads to try and pick winners from local club games and maybe give an opinion on this thread.

Here are some of the Senior club fixtures in Tipp this weekend and my predictions.

Templederry Kenyons V Lothra agus Doire/Lorrha-Dorrha
I can only see a Templederry win here, they have to win remaining games to challenge for a North Final. Lorrha have struggled at Senior grade recently.

Loughmore Castleiney V Drom & Inch
This is one i wouldn't be touching in an accum really, possible draw imo. Drom beat Sars last day out, while Loughmore are Loughmore.

Mullinahone V Carrick Swans
Mullinahone are 2/9 favorites and rightly so, Carrick have lost a few lads and will struggle here imo.

Portroe V Toomevara
Toomevarra while not the kingpins they were of North Tipp are 4/11 favorites to beat Portroe. They should, but the Liam Sheedy factor and an improving team will test them.

Upperchurch-Drombane V JK Brackens
This is a tight one to call and one i would steer away from in an accum. Both have beaten a poor Boherlahann team so questions about both remain. On form JK's maybe to shade it.

Cappawhite G.A.A. V Éire Óg Anacarty/Donohill
Eire Og are marginal favorites here at 4/7 and should have enough to win after running West kingpins Clonoulty to a point the last day out.

Borris-Ileigh V Kilruane Mac Donaghs
Another tough game to call and one to steer clear of betting wise imo. Seamus Hennessey's recent return and Buggy O'Meara's form of late make Kilruane tempting at 6/4 though. Borrisoleigh rely heavily on the Mahers and at 4/7 are poor value imo.

Holycross/Ballycahill V Boherlahan-Dualla
Should be a win for Holycross as their pick of good underage hurlers recently is far ahead of B/D, at 2/5 they are value in an accum imo.

Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams V Clonoulty/Rossmore
Should be an easy win for the current West champs C/R and at 1/8 the bookies think so too.

Kildangan V Nenagh Éire Óg
I haven't seen enough of either team to call this one, Kildanagan can cause upsets and Nenagh are favorites here at 1/2 but at 7/4 Kildanagan could suprise. Not a pick for an accum imo.

Moneygall V Roscrea
Yet another tight game and hard to call a winner easily,Moneygall are slight favorites at 4/6. The loss of last years manager Ollie Baker to Roscrea is big. Another to steer away from in an accum imo.

Moycarkey-Borris V Na Sáirséalaigh-Dúrlas Éile/Thurles Sarsfields
Thurles need a win after their 1st round defeat by Drom & Inch to have any chance of winning this division and at 1/10 on should do so.

With PP €10 bet returns €51.

I was hoping some lads would give opinions on games from Galway,Waterford, KK and Dublin etc too to spread the pick.

1st round games are tough as seen in Limerick last night where loads of games ended in draws.

Most of those look pretty solid although obviously I wouldn't know a huge amount about the games outside Galway. I think St. Thomas's at 1/4 will definitley beat Mellows and Athenry should get past Kiltormer (2/5) I see Paddy Power is offering odds on Galway intermediate games this week too. From the intermediate games Balindereen (1/6) and Oranmore 1/10 will both definitley win. Portumna who you already picked will also win comfortably aswell

Mount Sion are very poor value at 1/8 as they were poor against De La Salle. Passage/Abbeyside is the hardest match to call this round in Waterford, so I'd leave it alone.

Lismore to beat Dunhill is the best value for money of the lot.

Portumna game here in Galway is called off due to the death of the sister of Ciaran Ryan, one of the Portumna players.

Not an awful lot of games in Cork this weekend but this is what I would make of it.

Saturday

Senior Football Championship
O'Donovan Rossa 2/5 vs Dohenys 9/4
Would fancy O'Donovan Rossa in this game. They had a reasonably good year last year. Knocked out by finalists Castlehaven by a goal. Their U21's won the county last year and I think they should go further this year. Dohenys on the other hand were in the relagation final last year which was a surprise. I expect them to be a lot better this year and being a West Cork derby they should put up a fairly good fight. Still thought I fancy O'Donovan Rossa to come out on top here and I would put it into an accumulator.

Newcestown 1/4 vs St.Nicks 10/3
Would fancy Newcestown to win this year. They beat Nicks last year, in their first year up senior after a bit of an absence. It was a close enough game last year but Newcestown should be much better this year. Patrick Horgan will be the main man for Nicks and they dont take the football half as serious as the hurling. Well worth putting in an accumulator

Nemo 1/3 vs Bishopstown 11/4
Expect Nemo to win this. They were lucky to get a draw out of it last week but shouldnt slip this time. Wouldnt go near it though. B'town have been training hard over the winter and could easily have won last week. Dont be surprised to see a shock here.

Intermediate Football
Eire Og 1/6 vs Cloyne 4/1
Eire Og are a banker for me. Have Goulding, Sheehan, Hallisey and a decent Cork minor in their ranks. Beat Cloyne easily last year and could go all the way this year if they keep everyone fit.

Sunday
Intermediate Football
Castletownbere 4/6 vs Kanturk 11/8
Very tough to call. Castletownbere got to the final last year and Kanturk won the junior county. They gave a great performance in the final and they are my tip to win the county. Aidan Walsh is a huge asset at this level and Lorcan McLoughlin and Anthony Nash are fine footballers. Will be tight but Kanturk to edge.

Not many games here this weekend but I would take a chance on O'Donovan Rossa, Newcestown and Eire Og in an accumulator.

DLS are decent accum value at 4/11 vs fourmilewater, its buying money really.

Abbeyside are 6/5 vs Passage. Abbeyside missing a few through injury but Noel Connors is still out for passage and I fancy Abbeyside although this one is just personal preference (6/5 was just too tempting) and could go either way

Lismore (4/7) vs Ballyduff Upper (13/8). Staying away from this one. Lismore scraped past Dungarvan last week while Ballyduff were (somewhat surprisingly) beaten by Passage. Draw wouldnt surprise me

At shorter prices Tallow (2/9) will beat Roanmore who were beaten heavily last week by Fourmilewater.

Ballygunner (1/4) vs Dungarvan. Champions should have too much class here.

The clubs name is Granagh/Ballingarry.

Hope you didn't lump on Adare as suggested...

Jesus how wrong was I? Well deserved victory for FMW, i'm hearing they led for the whole game. Good result for Roanmore too who drew with Tallow but will be disappointed after leading for much of the game also. Dunhill to beat Mt.Sion tomorrow after seeing these results!

They sure did! DLS beaten by Fourmilewater today, 0-18 to 1-10. Roanmore and Tallow drew and Abbeyside beat Passage by 4/5 points. I'm surprised DLS lost but Fourmilewater are a really dangerous side, they could beat any of the title contenders on their day, some quality players - Shane Walsh, Liam Lawlor, Jamie Barron. They would be real title contenders if they didnt have the football too.

St. Thomas's 1-19 Liam Mellows 1-13. Ballindereen and Oranmore both won. Interestingly, the great Frank Lohan from Clare lined out up front for Oranmore and hurled well.

As far as beating the bookies is concerned in Tipp i would stay away from all North and South hurling, they are all as poor as each other and you could have any result.

The county champions will come from either Drom-Inch, Sars, Loughmore or Clonoutly.

Toome showed how poor they are tonight by failing to beat Portroe.

Really? I didn't know he was with them at all. He'd be a great addition to any intermediate team. Oranmore seem to be fond enough of "signing" an odd golden oldie! They had Gerry Mac playing with them for a couple of years aswell.

I hope a couple of ye backed that quadruple I recommeneded in my original post. The 4 of them won fairly comfortably anyway
