Heard rumours last night and again today from 2 different sources that Lar Corbett is back training with Tipp. Anyone else hear these rumours and is there any truth in them?

I can assure you he is not hurling for club or county . It's highly unlikely we will see lar in blue and gold again. Certainly not this year.

Not sure about that , I think Declan Ryan and most in Tipp have moved on and do not expect Lar to hurl for Tipp again, it's far too late this year for anything like that now when he has not picked up a hurley or done any kind of training for the last few months.
Indeed he may not hurl again full stop , Thurles Sarfields have heard nothing from him since he quit the Tipp panel , he has not been near their training ground or even gone to any of the their matches this year at all.

It is quiet baffling what is going on. How many people have we seen just drop a hurley like that all of a sudden and not go no it. Very few. I think there has to be more to this, something is up.

Did Brian Corcoran play for Erins Own after he retired from Cork the first time? I can't remember now! Some people just genuinely fall out of love with things for a while, how many lads do you hear of at club level who just give playing in there late 20s early 30's or indeed a lot of non high profile professional soccer players that stop playing at that stage of their careers as well!

I can well understand that once he decided he wasnt going to play for the county he would have to give up playing for the club too. Being a player of such iconic status , if he started turning up for training sessins with the club and turning out for matches , he would never be left with a moment's peace. Fans would be constantly asking him "when are you coming back for the county?" Making a clean break from all hurling
was the most painless way of doing it.

Unfortunately it looks like we have seen the last of the Lar magic for both the SARS and Tipp . Rumours of a return are complete rubbish. Tipp have put it behind them , no doubt the loss of lar could cost them Liam

great hurler who has decided to retire - has medals no one can take from him and will be remembered as a great goal poacher for a long time - wish him well in the future - I for one would like to see him back.

Even if this is true what in the name of God would be said between them that would take two one hour meetings in one week? Kofi Annan wouldn't take that long. ''Will you come back Lar'' - ''No'' . Its not as if Lar would need to be persuaded on the merits of playing for Tipp or not or what it involves...
