Their style of music isn't exactly appealing to the masses of pop-music lovers. Very much a more Indie sound, I'm a big fan though, they're doing a North American tour this summer but aren't playing in Vancouver... I'm bulling.

Saw them at Oxegen in 06. They were showing the world cup final a bit, with the penalty shoot-out amid an air of dis-belief at the sending off of the great Zinidine Zidane.
As for the Franz Ferdiand, I thought they were pretty good.

1st album is very good, 2nd album so-so (some good tracks), 3rd album was pretty decent. Although some of the tracks from the 3rd have nearly been veering into electro-pop territory.

Gutted I didnt hear about this. I was at their last gig in Dolans a couple of years back. Probably the best show/gig/concert I was ever at. It was unreal - and its not like im their biggest fan or anything.

Went on to You Tube there and instantly recognised some of the music. Yes, I agree. Great sounds from these lads.

Just read this now Jaorta. Might not be a bad idea at all but the shillings are tight. I got myself a bit of a part time job and after a short while the hours were cut. A meeting tomorrow about getting them increased so we might get out yet.

Got the first album and twasn't bad at all, they were fairly massive back then and it looked like they might go on the way Kings of Leon later did. Never listened to the second or third album or couldn't even pick out tracks off them on the radio so they mustn't have been as strong. I'd say they are a savage band live alright.
