Its time that there was a radical overhaul of the county Leagues in Limerick. Its a farcical competition and most teams treat the matches like challenge matches. Time there was incentives brought into the competition like they have in Kerry. For instance would it not be better if the leagues consisted of 12 teams and played the matches every second weekend from March to August with the top 2 teams in each group meeting in a final with the winner getting promoted to intermediate or senior ect. This would mean that every year between the county championships and the county leagues 2 teams would get relegated and 2 teams would get promoted. The biggest problem in Limerick imo is the divisions. Too much overlapping of fixtures and too many meaningless leagues and championships. I wouldnt mind if the boards could run their competitons properly but i paid to get into a West Junior hurling championship match at the weekend and there was nobody working the scoreboard and no programme. The people that run Limerick GAA are a disgrace and are running it into the ground.

Its time the boards hyped up finals ect. Years ago there was always pipe bands at west finals and interesting match day programmes. Not anymore. The whole thing has regressed. 10 years from now a quarter of the clubs will have disbanded if the powers that be dont get fixtures ect in order

One minute you want to get rid of the Divisional Boards, the next minute, you want pipe bands. Dont get me wrong, I love pipe bands, but which do you want??

Just making the point that while the boards are still with us they should do things right and have pipe bands but ideally they should all be disbanded and replaced by competitve county leagues and championships where there should be pipe bands playing at each final! No need of 4 boards in Limerick. The whole thing could be run just like the underage. Bring in Lifting the Treaty for the adult competitions. There should be adult 13 a side competitions brought in also. Too many second string teams are disbanding and giving walkovers.
