Listening to radio today prompts me to pose this question. What would you rate as Limericks most tourist attractive attractions. For what it worth and in no particular order I offer the following.
1.King Johns Castle.
2.Thomond Park.
3.Ballyhoura.
4.Adare Manor.
5.The River Shannon.
6.Hunt Museum
7.Glin Castle
No person should feature. Please give your opinion.

The road to Cork is sh*te, at least the road to Clare is good and bypasses most of it.

The two advantages of the Cork road is that it the way out of Limerick and it doesn't go through Clare

King Johns castle is a bit of a joke as the only authentic part is some of the outside wall.Sure there were corporation houses built inside the walls up until 15 years ago.

...and the galvanise shed constucted against the side of it,
it's still Limerick's no. 1 attraction though, now that Pat Grace's famous fried chicken is gone.

I also have it on scholarly advice, that it is not called King John's Castle but was always referred to as Limerick castle... In modern times John has been latched onto, but i'd much favour a return to the original.

Still plenty authentic, but you're right, it's a joke of a place.

Of course, if it was on 'the road to Cawk', it would have to be called Our Gracious Elizabeth's Castle.

Now you're talking. The original list had a very Anglo-Irish look about it (apart from the places of natural beauty like Ballyhoura and the Shannon).

There are a good few of those "pikeys" in Limerick city also from what I have seen.

Surprised no one has mentioned St Mary's Cathedral, which is ancient.

Hoping that the artsy yoke you're shifting in Costelloe's is at least female.
