Leinster strolled to a comfortable victory over Munster in Trim to claim the Gael Linn senior interprovincial camogie title on a 0-21 to 1-8 scoreline.
The eastern province was winning the prestigious Gael Linn Cup for the 27th time and there was never any doubt that they would do so.
Mary Leacy gave a commanding performance from centre-back for JJ Doyle’s crew, propelling them forward while repelling so many Munster attempts to attack.
Katie Power and Louise O’Hara were the chief beneficiaries in attack, while Kate Kelly, Linda Bolger and Ursula Jacob also made significant scoring contributions for Leinster.
Munster, who had emerged with a one-point victory over an emerging Ulster in the semi-final, never gave up, with Jenny O’Leary and the excellent Jill Horan leading the resistance.
Unfortunately, Horan suffered a very nasty head wound that necessitated her replacement and any chance of a comeback for Mags Finn’s charges departed with her.
Having trailed by 0-10 to 0-4 at half time, Munster did give themselves some hope with a goal mid-way through the second half when Chloe Morey won possession and drove the sliotar towards the Leinster goalmouth. A scramble ensued before Eerena Fryday finished to the net.
The score didn’t spark any major comeback though as player of the tournament O’Hara, Jacob and Power all kept the scoreboard ticking over.
