Limerick and Tipperary meet in the Munster Championship next Sunday at Semple Stadium in a game that has been billed as a one-sided affair. Older Tipperary supporters will be wary of Limerick, professing that bad Limerick teams have mugged them in the past but Tipperary on paper look to be well placed to achieve a result. Both counties have had their problems this spring, but Sunday is the day that everything is put to the test...

I tried a few times there but reading that was like jogging in molasses. Could someone put up a 5 line summary?

Also, Limerick fans remember the 6-19 to 2-7 match for "all the wrong reasons" apparently.
Henry seems to have a real issue with an 18 year old Noel McGrath jumping up and down celebrating getting in to his first Senior All Ireland final. He's mentioned it a few times now.

A poor article from a failed writer.
Was it really necessary to cover some of the points in the article?

Yeah just jokes on my part.
Good piece and all aspects of the game ahead covered in detail in fairness.
Anyone who thinks its long winded has no business being on here in the first place. It is a GAA article with plenty of detail which is what we all crave i would have thought.

Good article indeed
I don't think SLR gets a fair hearing on his hurling writings at times.
I would say though Limerick fans didn't shy away from chirping and sneering on the way back from cork in 95 and especially 96.
They were judge and jury that evening on who should go to the "big house" as well.

Looks like Henry seems to have ruffled a few feathers here
I always enjoy reading his articles, and, if memory serves me correctly, he was spot on in his calls on the last two All-Irelands
(which very few of us were)

Not a bad old read, though I'm a bit surprised by the bitterness. Should we have eased off? You needed to know where you were at, at that point in time. To do anything else would be to patronise Limerick.
Anyway to sunday. I'm looking forward to seeing another chapter of unlimited heartbreak being written.

Team I would have played but what do I know...
1. Nickie Quaid Effin
2. Tom Condon Knockaderry
3. Brian Geary Monaleen
4. Stephen Walsh Glenroe
5. Wayne McNamara Adare
6. Gavin O Mahony Kilmallock
7. Conor Allis Croom
8. Donal O'Grady Ballingary
9. James Ryan Garryspillane
10. Paul Browne Bruff
11. Declan Hannon Adare / David Breen NP
12. Shane Dowling Na Piarsaigh
13. Graeme Mulcahy Kilmallock
14. Kevin Downes Na Piarsaigh
15. Sean Tobin Murroe Boher
Logic - 3/6 switchable; 8-10 defensive inclined...
Anyway - regardless, am still looking forward to it despite unbelievable lack of gumption compared to any year I can remember in the last 30!!
I just dunno...but Luimneach abú anyway!!
Best of luck lads!

Article pretty much sums up a lot of happenings.
There are two camps in Limerick and one side of the fence supporting Ciaran and the other side supports the management. Henry Martin has flown the Ciaran Carey flag and that does not lie well with some people. He was very vocal during the Justin campaign and sided with the hurling board.
I do not know Henry Martin particularly well but when he was in the schools he seemed to be genuine enough but not the easiest to work with because he seemed to decide that there was enough of ------------footing around with Limerick and wanted to change a few things.
It is plain to be seen that he is a stubbornly independent free spirit and that does not buy you friends and I think that leads to him getting a lot of reaction to his articles and books here.

I'm one of those Limerick fans who chirped in 1996 after vanquishing the ould enemy in the replay in Cork, pure ecstacy is what it was,now mind you the Tipp fans were not shy with their comments at half time in the drawn game in the GG. I have nothing but regard for Tipp hurling but its a little thin skinned to be still bristling 16 years after an all too seldom victory over Tipp by Limerick.Enjoy sunday win loose or draw,I certainly will, life is for enjoying.

Good man absent, i was only a young buck in 96 but i can still remember the noise that saluted every Limerick score in the second half of the drawn game.
The walk to the car afterwards was torture, but like yourself i try now to enjoy it as best i can too.
Limerick will relish the trip to Tipp Sunday, no better underdogs than Limerick. If ye were playing anyone else i would be shouting ye on, win lose or draw i hope ye have a good and Late summer this year.

Yes 'Harry, nothing as bad as the walk after a defeat, the worst one for me is the Cork one to the train station,a long walk and absolutely torture when you are down in the dumps after a defeat which I witnessed on so many occasions in Cork.Still its chin up and chest out and on we go seeking that elusive bit of glory.

Its not that I have anything against him, its the horrors of the memory of the empty net and McGrath jumping up and down. Such memories are not forgotten.
