Taoiseach Enda Kenny's car has been pelted with eggs during a visit to Donegal today.

Enda Kenny was attending a function at a school in Milford when his car was targeted by the egg-throwers.

Up to 80 people were protesting outside the school on a number of issues, including cuts to the health service and policies of austerity.

In fairness Enda will ensure that we'll all be driving around in old yolks shortly.

Pitty these protesters would not get up off their arses and work for a change.
Sinn Fein and ULA want to pull down the country. They hope to climb to power on the wreckage.

Enda Kenny has inherited a National Debt of 160 billion euro and a budget deficit of 18 billion euro. Incidentally the IMF/EU were in charge pre the arrival of this government.
Get this much into your head. Ireland is BANKRUPT, BANKRUPT. Have you forgotten so soon. Ireland is BROKE.
If Sinn Fein and the ULA get their way and people vote NO you can expect 30% cuts in all state payments and the collapse of the economy as we will be unable to fund the deficit. A NO vote means no access to a second bail out if required. It means HYPER AUSTERITY. Also expect multinatioonal companies to move elsewhere.
A time will come in the not too distant future when you will look back on 2012 as a golden age. The western world in on the verge of collapse financially.

Even by the standards of this country, Donegal is out on its own. Just want lots of free stuff and who cares about paying for it. Elected four FFers out of 6 tds in 2007 when Bertie was telling them the good times will never cease and FF was paving every little track in the county with new road.

When it all went pear shaped, they elect two Shinners and one ex Shinner whose basic message was "it's not your fault, someone else will pay

Even by the standards of this message board that's an extremely unfair characterisation of well over 100,000 people. Fianna Fail were the biggest party after the 2007 election, believe it or not quite a lot of people in Cork did vote for Bertie and Co and still do.

Point taken Ozzy. However, I think the switch from such fulsome support to Bertie and co to giving vote to party of no policy except angry protest and rejection of everything most pronounced in Donegal.
Both Donegal constituencies gave FF more than 50% of the vote in 2007 - that was high even for vote at the height of Bertie's bubble of benchmarking and building!

The western world is on the verge of collapse because all of the large banks in every country are insolvent. Europeans are starting to wake up to that fact and are saying they are not willing to continue to see their standard of living decline in the effort to prop up insolvent banks. The money that is being printed to bail out insolvent banks could be used to drive economic expansion. Greece is nothing, Spain is the next domino to fall and their banks will need at least $250B to keep them afloat. All to ensure that the top 0.1% including the banking executives with their lavish bonuses do not have to suffer losses.
The only solution to this crisis is capitalism needs to be allowed to work. When a business fails it should be allowed to fail and those that own shares, bonds etc. in the business get to eat the losses. If I had been foolish enough to buy Facebook stock last Friday and now am down 15% should I ask someone to give me my money back??
Democracy also needs to heeded, history tells us when the people are not listened to they eventually take matters into their own hands.
