A lively start. Don't know if this debate will change many people's minds but it's pretty entertaining so far.
While many people don't like Ganley I think he's a valuable voice. Good to have someone who isn't a complete yes man on Europe. He's just after hitting Gilmore with 'Labour's way or Frankfurt's way'.

Ya Gilmore will always have that one over his head....
Ganley and SF who would have thought - strange bedfellows. Also, does anyone really know what Ganleys motives are in relation to Europe. I heard a piece on RTE radio this evening mentioning a company that hes allegedly involved in that would benefit its investors by having uncertainty in the European Union and markets.
I didnt know the Dragons den was on......
also SF havent a clue about Economics.........

Low blow from the Dragon's Den woman on Ganley, rebounded badly though. The two farmers are after injecting a bit of craic into anyway. Yes guy made a bit more sense.
The thing that gets me with the yes side is that they present their arguments as if they're the only people who have any sense at all and anyone who doesn't agree with them is just a chippy luidramain. This is despite the outrageously poor decisions made by Irish political elites over the last decade. They don't realise that people are kinda -------ed off and have cottoned onto the fact that they're not all-knowing.

Hugely ironic to hear Mary Lou talking about other parties causing "untold grief and suffering". I suppose if any party knew anything about that, it would have to be SF.

Completely agree Ozzy, jeez im after reading up on the Treaty and i still plan to vote No. I must be missing something, as Fr Dougal would say.....God Im an aweful eejit.
Gilmore was a disaster and has been since he folded and joined with Enda. If labour get 12% in the next election they'll do well. Don't be surprised if they have a Green-like meltdown. The muppets who voted FG are mostly the same muppets who kept FF in power for so long so id expect FG to hang onto most of them as they dont really "do" brains.
The dragons den lady lost all credibility when she mentioned turning a corner. I could be wrong, but as a successful business woman id imagine she hasnt exactly been hit by the recession. She can talk all she wants but I genuinely believe unless you've been unemployed you dont understand the effect it has on you. My first time ever being out of work was last year and I wasnt unemployed for long (4-5 months) but I have a totally different outlook on being employed now than in the past and from some people i know who have remained employed through these bad times.
Its a scarey feeling when you're actually sitting down working out where to go next and researching foreign lands. Its not all negative and can be exciting depending on your circumstances but if you have a family who rely on you i can only imagine the pressure and my heart goes out to those who've had to leave with heavy hearts.
Totally lost where i was going with this post but you get the drift, Vote No!

I'm not a fan of SF economic policy but to be fiar she buried that lad in blue in the audience who had a cut of them about negotiating.

One thing that didn't get a mention was what correction measures will be put in place if/when our books don't balance. It'll be cutting spending or raising taxes but where will cuts be made.
Think the lad in the red t shirt alluded to this.
IMO the 1st farming fella possibly talked the best bit of sense, better to have a line of credit and not need it than heed the credit and not be able to get your hands on it, whether this will happen or not (we'll need the credit alright, but how easy/difficult it will be to access it remains to be seen).

while ive my mind made up to vote no i think Gantley was supreme boss on last nights show.
All one has to do is ask the question why would you vote for something that clearly is not complete therby you dont know what you are voting for.

Gilmore was shamefully pathetic but the lad in the audience was right, where is Phil Hogan? They are obviously afraid that his abrasive 'personality' will make people run to vote no. Nora is out of touch and kept on with the mantra that we are where we are but never answered the question 'where are we going?' If we pursue her ideals we will end up even further in the gutter so Nora, 'I'm out'. Vote no and be damned.
