great few days ahead for anyone that follows the golf (or like a bet for intrest)
the bmw is a good comp on the euro tour and brings back alot of the big name euorpeans from the pga tour in the states.luke donald/rory and westwood will be fighting it out this weekend for the world no 1 spot.
infairness there isnt alot of value out there this weekend with the prices on all the top guys cut to the b0ll0x!!
over at the crowne plaza things are getting tighter by the week,is phil finally going to win one?ricky foweler is finally shown why all the hype was about him or is hunter going to win his 3rd this season.
finding value is hard but i think i'll go with 2 in each this week...
plaza..
HUNTER MAHAN.hunters last two starts (T53, MC) scared off a few people but hard to ignore the fact he ranks in top 10 this year in both driving accuracy and greens in regulation. He's a top shot-maker on the ultimate shot-maker's course.@22's
JIM FURYK. Anyone who can win a FedExCup is a threat any time they tee it up. Furyk hasn't finished outside the top 30 in his last six starts. He already has top-10 finishes on shorter tracks at Innisbrook and Harbour Town,he's not a long hitter but he's great tee to green and i think hes good value @35's
for the lads who like on the nose betting dont look past (edit)(zack) Johnson
BMW
Ernie Els,the big easy has been up there or there abouts the last few comps.with no value on rory/lee/luke i think the big easy is great value @28's
Martin Kaymer, this guy has it in him,he hasnt been on form but he has a fairly good record here and again @28's he's good value.
looking forward to it...
edit,got els at 33's

My picks for the BMW championship are;
Paul Lawrie @ 50-1
Marcus Frazer @ 70-1
Shane Lowry @ 80-1
All each way.
For the Crown Plaza in the US only going to back one guy,
Dickie Pride is 100-1, so an each way bet on him too.

Texas, that's right, I forgot about the Colonial thanks.
Value does seem hard to come by in both tournaments.
For the BMW, Luke, Rory, Lee, etc. are all priced well under 15's, so I'll go with:
Graeme McDowell and Charl Schwartzl, both currently at 33's with PP. Neither player in a rich vein of form at the moment, but if they get on a roll this weekend either is well capable of winning.
My long-shot is Branden Grace at 80/1.
I like Zach Jonhson at the Crown Plaza but he's priced at 12/1, which is not a good price. I agree that Furyk at mid-30's is a good bet, especially on these older classic courses where his accuracy and iron approaches make a bigger difference.
In addition to Furyk, I'll add David Toms at 25/1. Not a great price either, but another horses for courses bet.
My long shot here is a past winner - Rory Sabbatini at 125/1. Playing sh1te at them moment, but he's always good for one win every couple of years so maybe this is it.

Best of luck with Sabbatini Minstrel, i backed him for the same reasons last week and he played like a donkey.
I think he has more problems with his temperament than his swing at the moment.

first week of the year i really look at the eueopean tour. good tournament usually and great finish last year with westwood and luke fightin it out.
im going for 2 in it.
martin kaymer. not too long since he was world number 1 and very good at his best . needs to bounce back but capaple.33to1
peter hanson. plays well on tough courses. showed at august can match it with the best of them. 33to1
in america ita a tournament where if u hit greens you can score very low. ill go with 2 as well
bo van pelt. had an injury but showed he was back to form recently.hits it long and straight and can go on a streak and make birdies.. 28to1
bill haas. has played well here before and showed by winnin the fed ex is well able to win. 33to1

Keep an eye on soren kjeldsen this week , been playing nicely and has been placed in this before . Lives in wentworth also .
Outsiders have won/been placed here frequently so don't be put off by a big priced lesser light this week .

Yeah i agree, was torn between himself and Lawrie. Lawrie's current form swung him for me. Didn't know Kjeldsen lives in the area though, he has a good few top 10 finishes there in the past altough not recently.
He is a good each way shout at 50/1 too, best of luck with him LB.

Very early alright Faldo but positive all the same, Paul Lawrie shot -3 so happy enough. Frazer slipped to +3 so probably out of it already.
Hope Shane Lowry can go well as he likes the place.
Poor Paddy was unlucky too, an early triple bogey cost him today, shot +1 for the rest of the round which was ok. He just can't seem to put a couple of good weeks together anymore.

I take it they've taken the matchplay out of wenthworth and replaced it with the BMW? Disappointed more of the yanks didn't travel over? Did any? Their ignorance can be something else at times. Looking forward to watching this sat and sun morning.

Glad to hear someone is in with a chance, Dickie Pride shot +10 i think so he's a goner.
In the BMW my only shout left is Paul Lawrie on -4 but he is a long way back as it stands right now.
Dufner is on some roll and is fairly good odds in most tournaments in fairness.

Wentworth is biting back big time today, very few low scores around today.
Wide open again, even though Donald looks the likely winner now. Peter Lawrie is leading still scoring well so hopefully he can see it out. Ernie Els is right in the mix too.
I just hope Paul Lawrie can go well again tomorrow and give me a return on my investment.

I feel ashamed to know so little about the European Tour. Wished there were more tournaments like this. What did Morrison finish on? He was really falling when i had to go do something.
