Brutal stuff alright. The lad in the grey hoodie actually get that hurl smashed across his head or did it connect with his shoulder maybe? Cos it looks like he got a hurl smashed across his head and didn't even flinch. If he did then we could have a new entrant for the hardest ever sportsman thread!!

That entire area is full of drug addicts and nasty Dub types. It's like night of the living dead around there with all the walking zombies.
Knock that city centre down and start again.

All kinds of scum do inhabit the O'Connell/Abbey St area, see it every day getting off the Luas, never saw them with hurleys before, not sure how they can pay for them too given most of their welfare goes on heroin.
But hey twas no worse than a junior B match

You'd like to put them out on a hurling field for 20 minutes and show them how to really use a hurley. Those +++s have no respect for anything. Anytime I see one of these videos, there is always a fat bird roaring her head off..

Think I hurled against a few of these when I first played adult hurling in the 80's. Similar style anyway with a ball not really needed in order to pull.

This story does not shock me because of the scum that I see every day but I really thought because this was in broad daylight and in the media spotlight that surely arrests would be made and harsh punishments handed down to set an example but yet again the guards do nothing...

The hurleys were taken off students who were walking by when this fight erupted. It is amazing that the Guards did not arrest anyone.
Malborough Street, Abbey Street and the side streets around O'Connell Street are infested with these zombies. The Boardwalk is a no go area. There is drug dealing openly taking place in these streets (and on the boardwalk) and these zombies are always shouting and screaming at each other, it is an embarassment to the honest people of Dublin. This would never be accepted in the centre of any major European or U.S city.

No city has a solution to this problem but what is unusual about Dublin is that they are allowed to take over the city centre and interfere with tourism. Most other cities just plague them until they find some place to hang out on the outskirts and then they leave them alone. It's not a perfect solution but it's better than what we have in Dublin at the moment. See Needle Park in Zurich.
