First off apologies for the soccer thread. just wondering how many lads are heading to the euros? seems like everyone i meet below the age of 40 is going...
could only manage 3 days for the spain game myself due to cost and females pressures! Tickets looking tight though, 3 of us going and no joy out of that portal yet. should be worth it for the craic alone though, the stories my old man has of italy and germany are brilliant.

I'm heading over 2 weeks today and looking forward to it. I managed to get tickets through a relative for all 3 games. They reckon Ireland will be one of the best supported teams there with up to 30000 going. I was too young for any of Irelands previous tournaments in 80's and 90's and Japan and Korea was too expensive and far away so I'd say a lot of the younger fans will be going away for the first time to a tournamnent.
I've been learning a few Polish words off a colleague in work to help. It should be a great atmosphere there. I don't give us much chance of getting out of group though.

Know about 40 lads going. Not for me unfortunately, don't have the budget for it. Most of them factoring in about €2k for a fortnight, inc campers etc. still a wild amount of money. I hope to God we don't have a club fixture during them 2 weeks, we would be anayalated.

It's a funny one-we were just talking about this in the pub last night. Four of us there and none of us knew of a single person going. I'm sure there'll be a load of paddies there as normal but don't know anyone going and haven't even heard anyone saying friends of their's are going.

Keep an eye on the UEFA ticket portal, still the odd ticket appearing there. Other than that your looking at done deal or something but be careful where you buy. There were some sites selling tickets, took the money and the sites are gone now and no tickets delivered. People quoting 2k for these trips, I have hotel, flights, match ticket etc for around €600.

Spain game is supposed to be very tight for tickets as Spain used their allocation. The Italians sent back a lot and we snapped them up, everybody seems to be sorted for that one. From what I'm hearing it's going to be full of Irish, I know about 40 lads going just in my wider circle. I'd say it'll be like Paris in 2004, some crack.

I thought you're country was meant to be bankrupt. How are all these people affording to go to Poland and all these Heineken Cup rugby trips to the South of France and Twickenham. IMF and EU should look at slashing bail out money, reality is that your country is still flush with disposable income.

Its a recession all right before the crash we would have going in our private jets, anyway if they arewilling to give us the money we mights as well spend it and enjoy ourselves. Am going myself with two others going to cost six hundred each for flights, tickets, hotels, car and fuel and sure beer is cheaper out there spain and italy games only though.

Yeah Polish beer is usually over 5% alcohol and vodka stronger too so lads would want to watch out for that. The way I see it is we haven't been to a major finals in 10 years so you have to take the chance to see it especially as Poland not too far away and is cheap enough over there.
