Can't look any further than Tipp and 1989
- Bet a poor Limerick team and a team of thugs in Waterford to win Munster
- Beat Galway who were mentally in bits after the Tony Keady affair
- Won the All-Ireland in one of the most one sided affair ever seen against Antrim
How do people in Tipp view this one. Do they even count it as an All Ireland ?

No such thing as an undeserved All-Ireland. You can only beat what's put in front of you.

What about all the handy ones Kerry got. Beat weak teams in Munster when Cork were poor and then a handy win in semis over a Connacht team and all guns blazing for what comes out of the other side of the draw

Dopey well worn out thread. Even i'm sick of hearing about Tipp in 89 at this stage. Fact is that they had earned it over previous 5 years since 1984.
I assumed this thread might be about not so great players who got soft all irelands compared to fellow countymen who were better players but never won anything.For example Mark Landers in cork versus say Shane O'Neill

Just out of interest as it is a silly topic;
beat Limerich who 'never fear Tipp'
won a very tough munster Final v Waterford
beat the holders in the semi
beat the best of Leinster & Ulster in the final
Depends on how ya tell'em.

Tough is quite an apt description considering Noel Crowley's slashing that day.

This is way too much sour grapes by someone with way too much time on their hands.There are no undeserved All Ireland's period.You win it you deserve it and congrats.Makes up sometimes but very seldom for the ones that got away in spite of the teams best efforts.Every team has had hard luck storys and if a county is lucky enough to get an easy run on a given year, well then good luck to them.

John Denton refereed 2 u21 finals 1980 and 1985 and a semi in 89. Tipperary played in and won all three games. Then in 2003 this happened;

And we all know Fitzy was a legend and a gent. It would really make you wonder!

Curiously Denton reffed the League final in 89 when Linnane got away with sledging Pat Mcgrath. Cue complaints from galway....Oh, wait...

Oh I thought Galway were mentally in bits after their rough ride in Connacht championship!
Mmm well tipp beat Waterford and cork were beaten by them I assume or Limerick, but then again that Cork team must have been poor as took them ages to win an AI again!!!!!!
So who has won soft AIs , don't believe there have been any, but if was to stick neck out I'd say Galway because of the Notorious Connacht championship.
Soft All Ireland's my a/se
