Hadnt heard a thing since his last run-in a couple of months ago , so be disappointing if he is gone , in excellent form the last few weeks too , and between him an Soky it was good to have that competition in the panel .

Looking at the papers today , Waterford seem in a bit of disarray with preparation for the Clare game between withdrawals and injuries.
I read that Noel Connors only lasted 20 minutes in a club game before he was forced off with a reoccurrence of his thigh injury and Stephen Molumphy has picked up a shoulder injury making him very doubtful now as well , this along with Shane O'Sullivan flying out to the states for the summer.
But on the good news side , Eoin Kelly will be fit and available for selection , nevertheless I think Waterford could have a very big job on their hands to beat Clare in two weeks time.

Ya he did and when told by one of the opposition to show some respect he told the player in question-"They same respect you're showing him by f***king off to the states for the summer!"
You couldn't script it could you!!!!!!

We are bad in Limerick but I have never heard a tale like that.
Reminds me of Brollys article the weekend though, when Art McRory was at a club game in 1986 and some guy scored 2-6 from play. He roared out to McRory and McRory roared back "The next time Tyrone are playing that club side, I will think about picking you"

Indeed you couldn't.
There must be more to it than just frustration at not getting the number 1 jersey. If its just he cannot hack the battle with Soky for the position then its a poor reflection on him.

that's a top top story from Brolly.
Brolly is a top top bloke imo, a fantastic analyst and a gentleman to boot

Really disappointing to see this happening just weeks before the start of the championship. Not really sure what his problem is, good battle between himself and Socky for the No.1 jersey, dont think either of them could feel they have the position nailed down, so is he walking away because he is not automatic first choice?
As regards Friday evening's match, he was going crazy all evening, started a few rows and jumping and roaring the whole match. He was clearly wound up, but in fairness he pulled off a few top class saves, as did Socky for the Gunners. Power definitely did something at the end, you could see some of his team mates trying to calm him down. Hadnt heard until now what exactly had happened.

Have to admit as a Waterford fan I'm very disappointed by this news. Watching club games over the last few years Power is certainly the most naturally talented keeper in the county, I'd even argue the country. I'd say he has a bit of a wild streak in him alright like Kelly or Mullane but wouldnt hold that against any young fella. He was understudy to Clinton for a few years and in fairness when Clinton stepped aside I'm sure he felt it was his chance but instead the management brought in Iggy Regan (a never was and never will be) and seemingly relegated Power to third choice. It's easy to say he should have knuckled down and waited for his chance but when your young you dont always think this way, especially having already waited a couple of years and to me this is just terrible management of a very talented player.

think it was tough on him falling down the pecking order but if thats the way he handles things then perhaps its for the best, poor reflection on himself and club

There is a bit of pressure in being on a county panel these days and they are in the public eye a bit. Some lads are not able to handle that and react badly to it. I think in Power's case he is better off away from it. Best of luck to him. Has anybody seen a Waterford Intermediate panel for the Clare game or are they fielding at all?

i have alot of sympathy for adrain power , i think if he had established himself he could have been a great of the game,as he would surely have settled down and stop making some of those rash decisions that he was making a few years ago.He was however not given a fair crack of the whip for whatever reason , and we are lucky we have another terrific keeper in socky who is just as good , but less dramatic in everything he does.I feel that this omission of adrain power is another example of how much out of his depth our current manager is ,as he does not seem to be able to communicate with anyone properly. We are going into a munster championship rudderless and in a mess ,ken mcgrath gave it a boost for about two weeks, but it has lost all that momentum again, sully heading to america to hurl [an all star replacement two years ago],where else would you see it ?,his clubman brian also going , would they have gone ,if they recognised some progress, they would in their eye, i am so hoping the minors and u 21's are flying , and won't be pulled apart by this shambles Clare to win by 4/5 points Waterford could be out of this years championship,by mid july, depending on the draw in the qualifiers, lunatics in charge of more lunatics who are running the asylem.Tom cunningham has made some job of it,be hard for anyone to follow this.

Adrian had left the panel of his own accord last week before the round of club championship fixtures. Obviously a bit frustrated at the way things have panned out for him. I'd imagine his outburst after the club game was just a bit of pent up frustration and his emotions got the better of him. It's worrying to say the least to hear all the stories of discontent in the camp - Mullane and Ken had a big bust up only a few weeks ago as well

Iknow Adrian, a smashing fellow but just because he was understudy to Clinton should not make him number 1 choice this year. Sok is a good keeper and it was always going to be a battle between the two of them. In my opnion Michael Ryan is manager in name only, Ken & Sean are calling the shots and rightly so, MR was man enough he should have walked with the other selectors .
Every year people give Waterford no chance and particularly this year, and you know what they just might surprise a few people this year.

I dont know what is going on in deise land but jez i ve seen Adrian Power hurl a half dozen times on TG4 with WIT and his club and some of the saves he made were unreal. Its hard to beleive Iggy O'Regan is better than him. Asking Power to slog it out with Stephen O'Keefe for the number 1 jersey is one thing but introducing Iggy to the mix doesnt make sense looking in from the outside
