Is it just a one off with him since they said "special guest"? I thought he brought a new dimension and a bit of life to the program.

He's another Brolly in the making i think.

He won't pander to the big names which will amuse for a while, but it will eventually get boring.

The Sunday Game should be about quality analysis first and foremost, whether he will bring that to it is the question.

Agreed there is that potential for downside, harry.
But, even though he was clearly determined to impress, he made some good points; only time will tell whether he'll endure

Agree with that and he would actually tell you what you actually would be thinking, without having to say with all due respect.

I was shocked to see he received an aggressive tweet from James Stafford yesterday for it to turn out to be a fake account. This Twitter is really causing havoc in modern sport

Water off a ducks back to Parkinson Badger, he's a fair boy for posting unmentionable tweets too.

He is worth following for the laughs alone, the (bogus) Stafford reply was funny all the same.

Ah yeah Im sure its no skin off his nose but sure its mad how a lad cant go on the Sunday Game without some eejit pretending to be one of the players roaring abuse at him behind a keyboard.

Tend to agree with you harry I think he's a mixture of Brolly and Roy Keane has a controversial side mixed with this attitude that nothing seems to impress him.Ok now and again but could get a bit too much I'd imagine if we had him every week

Calling a fella the size of James Stafford ''a one trick pony'' wasn't to nice either though.

That's what Colm will bring to the table though.

Anything would be an improvement on Brolly Spillane and O'Rourke.2 of them have been in their for 20 years and Brolly must be on the panel for the last 10 years. Its time for a change. The maximum a pundit should last on that show is 5 years.Their are bucket loads of GAA players who would do a good job on the sunday game if only they were let on the show. The better pundits like Ciaran Whelan are shoved off to the nightime show. The punditry on TV3 and Setanta is a mile better

I dunno...ive nothing personal against the lad, he seems a nice fella..but once you scratch below the initial catchphrase openings, some of his points or views dont stand up to any kind of conventional thinking.

Ive listened to him a fair bit on newstalk over last summer and again i woudlnt have agreed with his viewpoints. Ill give one example - He said on newstalk Cork were boring and he wouldnt watch them and the football they played wasnt attractive - now before anyone jumps in its just an example i remember and its not the reason btw than i dont think theres much sustance to him, there are other examples - To me he just seemed to jump on the bandwagon of certain media outlets in saying Cork were boring etc etc but he didnt expand on why he thought they were boring just gave the opening headline and that was it.

You would expect more than that to be honest from a good analsyst of the game.

There have been others as well, just cant remember them.

he is finish playing football wasn't anything special when he was playing now whats to get into radio and TV by been outspoking about teams and players.

and knocking and great football side from cork who have been at the top for the last 7 years or more, this coming from a guy who was playing for a poor laois team over the last few years muppet

Parkinson is more of an entertainer then anything else which is no bad thing because in my mind the Sunday game could do with a fresh face. Would like to see him on a panel with with Spillane and Brolly at some stage.

His comments about Cork been boring had me throwing my eyes up to heaven though. Parkinson played on a very average Laois team that seems to have got great mileage out of winning a what was a weak Leinster championship at the time. If Parkinson was from Cork he would just be another average club player like the rest of us and wouldnt be within an arses roar of making the Cork panel so he would do well to remember that before constantly criticising Cork.

He actually said Cork had the most boring midfield in the country. What the hell that even means i don't know.

He is a fool, who has bluffed his way to gigs on Newstalk and now the national braodcaster, and largly gave himself a name by saying that Mick O'Dwyer was a spoofer. He's a joke figure.

I've given up on watching Sunday Game punditry, it's just so terrible. You'll get far better analysis of games on the airwaves and on the net.

Parkinson was a quality player however I always felt he played best when he was in the half back line.He played wing back for the Laois under 21's the year they got to an all ireland final and he was outstading.Remember he got to an all ireland club final in 2005 with Portlaoise and Laois were a good side under Micko they knoecked out Tyrone one of the years they were defending their All Ireland and were a tough opponent for any team that faced them

Neath? Were they not merged with Swansea and formed the Ospreys, yeah they had a great weekend lol

Seriously though its job done and brought back the winning feeling. After a nervous start I was thinking the league form was going to continue but it was heartening to see some of the players take things into their own hands. The two Reillys were superb and in fairness to Brian Farrell who I’m not a fan of staked a claim to start against Carlow, compared to a lacklustre Cian Ward. Hearing Seamus Kenny has done in his cruciate, all I can say it that is a massive blow, massive.
