Another of life's great mysteries - how does Jack Your Body make its way on any "Best of.." list?

George McCrae's 'Rock Your Baby' probably my fave 70s No. 1 of those selected
(followed by T. Rex 'Get It On'; maybe it was the Chuck Berry riff)

Easter '79 - at the time I thought it was the best top 3 ever - Oliver's Army was No. 1, Up the Junction by Squeeze was No. 2 and Into the Valley (currently featuring in an ad for bicycles!) by the Skids was No. 3. I still think it was the best top 3 ever and, seeing as my missus now tells me I have turned into a fuddy-duddy, whatever that is, I will probably think it when I depart this mortal life.

Showing my age here, but you could take 10 songs from the greatest music year of 1969 alone and they'd beat most of those selected by these guys.
One example - Albatross - Fleetwood Mac......
And surely even Whitney Houston "I will always love you" must beat most songs in 1992(???).
I missed most of the Eighties music (was it the drink?) but vaguely recall Men At Work's "Down Under" - may not be the best song ever but iconic in its own way.

I probably still have my 45 of 'Into the Valley' with the photo of the band on the cover
Skinny jeans and all
Elvis The Cee's 'Radio Radio' had a great picture cover, also; and its possibly my favourite single of his

amarach, I'm only responding to your note because we could spend days disagreeing about what is the best and not etc.... But, Albatross, all I can say is Oh Well... Whitney, no I will always say that Dolly's version is better, but that's just a matter of opinion, and Men at Work, sad to report that one of them died in the last two or three months.

Just looked at the list there now and I have to say, what a crock of shhite. There were one or two from that list I would listen to but the rest are absolute crap. Personal opinion, of course.
