Surely another year goes by for LeBron? Media slating them tonight. Hopefully Miami can turn it around and force a game 7.

Hopefully not!!
Why did Bosh not play more?
Wade and LeBron are fantastic basketball players and look great together sometimes but they do not compliment each other at all.
It'll be another tight one in Boston.

What a turn around for the Celtics, they looked dead and buried after game 2. If they manage to win this series it would be a fitting end to the 'big 3' era. It reminds me of the old Celtics-Lakers rivalry (the flash lakers being replaced by the Heat) with a gritty Boston team being so hard to beat.
Read this morning that the team that wins game 5 of a series that is tied 2-2 goes on to win over 83% of the time, so James may well have to wait another year for his NBA title...

94% of teams that have gone up 2 to 0 in best-of-seven NBA series have gone on to take the series (Only 14 teams in the history of NBA playoffs have ever climbed out of a 2 to 0 hole to win a best-of-seven game series.)
Therefore Boston & OKC only had a 6% chance after game 2. YOu can work stats anyway you want.
They are both very good at home and so will be favoured. Boston almost threw away game 4 with the huge lead they had, and the other games they've won have all been tight.

This series is far from over. Miami still have the players to beat anyone and Bosh should be fully fit the next night.
Miami are generally a much better outfit except that they can't stop Rondo. He's running rings around them and when they change their defensive system to combat him he changes his teams offensive approach to combat this.
Doc Rivers has to take huge credit out of this aswell.
Most of the games in this series have been very tight and he shows true genius with the plays he draws up late in games.
Again last night he won the sideline battle in the last few minutes.
Imo Oklahoma\Spurs will beat whoever comes through this side of the draw.
The playoffs have been amazing entertainment so far. Game 6 between Spurs Oklahoma tonight should be a cracker aswell.

I think what has shocked most commentators is the clear realisation that while on paper, the Heat have the better and deeper line up from starting 5 to the bench - the Celtics are just a better team.
Like an old racing car, they are slower and are burning diesel, but the better pilot in Rajon Rondo.
The Celtics are past their sell by date but as with old celtic teams of the past - they have beaten the odds many, many times.
Cant bate tradition as they say....
The series is not over.. The Heat are well capable of winning the next 2. But are they as bothered as the Celtics? Probably not.
If they win this out, it will go down as one of the Celtics best ever.. Doc will go to the Hall of Fame for that alone.

Hope the Celtics do the business. Barring Lebron James and Wade at times, the Heat don't seem to want to know about it and after the unreal atmosphere in game 4 in Boston id say they'll be shaking going back there tomorrow. Would love to see the big 3 go out with another championship under their belt
Rondo should be going to the Olympics in my book. A better all round PG than Chris Paul and Deron Williams and has shown he can run a game under pressure.

Even the Celtics getting to the finals this year would arguably be a greater achievement than when they won it all in 2008. For a start they are 4 years older and they weren't a young team even back then. Secondly they are carrying some amount of injuries. Jeff Green missed the entire season. Avery Bradley out for the season early in the playoffs. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce are both visibly carrying knocks. Rondo has now taken over this team from the big 3 though although Garnett is also playing unbelivably well.

I haven't seen any of this series but I'll definitely tape the 'as live' broadcast on ESPN to have a look at it
(in case the Celtics win it in six)
The great Lakers-Celtics mid 80s rivalry was my first experience of NBA basketball so it will be interesting to see how their current crop compare
(of course current Heat team president Pat Riley was the coach of that Lakers team)

Some game highlights,.
Being watching the play-offs and the Celtics have really come into their own in the last 3 games. Before the series I thought the Heat would blow them away and it wasn't looking good after game 2. Rondo has been brilliant and so too has Garnett. Its not over till its over though and with the talent the Heat have I hope the Celtics dont leave it get to game 7.
Surprised too that the Thunder have stolen a march on the Spurs in the Western Conference Final. I thought the Spurs would win about 4-1.
Both are excellent series.

No Boston will always be my team in both basketball and baseball and no need to be letting too many people know my poor choice of teams in football as God knows it is legendery enough

LeBron justified the hype last night, dominance not seen since Jordan at his best, hard to see the Celtics holding him in game 7, he'll get his championship this year methinks.

I'm pulling for Lebron on this one; he's more than played his part this season and has knuckled down after last season's disappointment.
Lets hope he gets the ring his quality deserves this year

The game lends itself to extraordinary athleticism no doubt and when you see top flight college games and realise that very few of them will ever make the NBA never mind become stars in it you realise how tough it is at that level.
I spent many evenings in Madison square gardens and a couple in the old Boston Garden but for sheer excitement nothing will ever top some of the classic Blue Demons Vs Neptune clashes of the mid to late 80s.
I'd rather see Oklahoma or Boston win it but i'm confident that LeBron will justify the hype which has surrounded him for over ten years now.

Don't know about that now. I think the Thunder will be favourites in the finals no matter who they play (probably the Heat now). They are a much more balanced team than the Heat and also have a lot more depth. To have a chance LeBron will have to continue to play out of his mind but Dwayne Wade will have to up his game considerably. He's been way below his own high standards in the playoffs.

I remember when people were bemoaning the fact that Michael Jordan would never win an NBA ring because he played on the mediocre Chicago Bulls franchise
That was even when the old Lakers-Celtics dominance were supplanted by those 'bad boys' of the Pistons.
Of course his loyalty was eventually rewarded.
Which might be part of the reason why Lebron's 'disloyalty' to Cleveland has made him such a hate figure.
I only got to one NBA game: in the ramshackle old Boston Garden in 1989, an understrength Celtics side were entertaining the Bullets in a 'no-account' game.
Me and my brother, who worked in Boston at the time, went looking for tickets on the night and had no difficulty getting them
(as we did for a Redskins-Eagles NFL game when he lived in Philly, in '94)
