in senior probably 6/7 teams can win it.

like crusheen newmarket kilmaley inagh/kilnamona
and in group death clonlara cratloe bridge.

if clonlara come of group with honan back they will be hard to beat.
ballyea a long shot to do well.

in intermediate i think down to 3 teams ruan feakle parteen.

Reports from last week suggest that Honan contributed well on his return for clonlara, whoever comes out of that group could go well! I'd be interested to see how Eire og fair out their league form has been good so far! As regards intermediate I'd say bridge 2 could have a good shout or will they lose many to the senior panel? I'd agree that feakle , parteen and Ruan would be the strongest of the bunch

All championships might come down to who loses what players during the course of the season. A long break between the 1st and 2nd round and clubs might find that they will lose people at this stage. June teams might be very different to September teams.

Clonlara with Honan are a very dangerous prospect. That's a tough group and I believe they have the 'easier' fixture first with St Joseph while Cratloe and SMB play each other. That gives him more time before facing those two. I fancy them to come through. Him Conlon and Tots can cause huge problems.
Crusheen and Newmarket should come through their groups, Newmarket have been very impressive in the cup and although Crusheen have faded a bit they'll be all good come championship. The defense they have is extremely strong for a club team and with Vaughan coming back they'll get better as the year goes on.
I would put Clonlara, Newmarket, and Crusheen at the top with Cratloe, SMB, Kilmaley next. I'll play down IKs chances! With the strength and consistency of these 6 teams its hard to see someone outside these winning it.

Eire Óg in a tough group and while Whitegate may struggle, the Mills and Ballyea will be very stiff opposition. In reality any one of three to come out. One bad day out could cost dearly in this group. Its almost knock out from day 1.

In the Intermediate its hard to look past Ruan and Parteen. I don't see Feakle as being as strong as these two. Last years relegated team Killanena look a little off the pace. SMB2 are usually strong but as any second team will know it depends on who they lose to the seniors. If they lose players its usually the best player and then the second best and so on. They are doing well in the league but the team they have out now could be very different to the one in a few weeks. Corofin are in their group and will fancy their chances of beating them. Between Ruan and Parteen with Corofin next in line.

corofin have lost a lot players this year . i still rate feakle having played in 1B clare cup will stand to them parteen have nice team but i am not sure i how they would cope against ruan feakle corofin or ennistymon in a tough physical battle.

Did not realise they had lost a lot of players.

1B in clare cup will stand to Feakle but they have always done well in cup, they have even been in the top tier recently. Home games in the league help a lot. I don't believe they are good enough if it comes down to Ruan or Parteen in Cusack Park.

Parteen seem to have lost a good few aswell. I know Feakle are actually up in numbers and Ruan seem to be same as previous years. Haven't seen Ennistymon yet but heard they have also picked up players. Going on last years semi finals you'd have to say Parteen but going by players lost it should be Ruan's to lose.

Just had a look at league results there , parteen beat both ennistymon and corofin, however, championship is a different kettle of fish! Dunno how much we can go on league form or does it help for the run into championship ? Didn't realize corofin list a few lads but I would still put them up there having been there before! Smith o briens were hammered last week in the Clare cup only scoring a point ,is this a sign that their top flight status could be over?, I'm sure the likes of whitegate would put up more scores than tht even against the big teams

ya 1pt for smith o briens very poor.sure whitegate goalie andrew fahy would score more than that. smith obriens along with tubber scariff and shannon would seem the easier B group . i would expect shannon or tubber to come through here. where as eire og ballyea whitegate mills very hard to pick winner here.

I believe there was a wedding in Killaloe the night before which might explain the poor showing, but even still..... 1 point in 60 mins is fairly bad, even if they were still pisht!!

Gerry Quinn hasn't played for them yet this year has he retired? Think Darren Malone and Darragh Shannon are out for the year with knee injuries. I don't think Darragh Clancy is playing either. I think a couple of their players are heading across the water for the summer. Big losses for any team.
