Massively important game for us, win this and we keep these lads together for another 6 weeks at least. There are several of these lads I can see making the breakthrough in the coming years. Conor Cleary the centre back has the makings of a senior IC centre back if his development goes the right way. Several otehrs as well, Alex Morey looks a very skillful player midfield, Jamie Shanahan is big and strong and the sort of playerwe need for the half forward line in the next few years. Huge game for us.

conor cleary has massive priorities in football too, let's hope it doesn't hinder him in terms of his huge hurling talent.

This is the team from the last day. Shanahan will certainly come in, but where will they play him? Maybe full forward for Deasy, as he poses maximum threat here. In saying that Deasy has shown some nice touches and got scores. The half forward line was much improved against Cork. Niall Deasy and Taylor certainly had good games. Wards position may be under threat.

Eibhear Quilligan (Feakle)
Shane O'Brien (Capt) (Clonlara)
Brian Carey (Sixmilebridge)
Geariod Ryan (Clarecastle)
Aidan McGuane (Kilmaley)
Conor Cleary (Kilmaley)
Eoin Quirke (Whitegate)
David Conroy (St.Josephs/Doora/Barefield)
Alex Morey (Sixmilebridge)
Stephen Ward (Clarecastle)
Niall Deasy (Ballyea)
Shane Taylor (Broadford)
Shane O'Donnell (Eire Og)
Conor Deasy (Sixmilebridge)
Bobby Duggan (Clarecastle)

Keith Hogan Clooney/Quin
Brian Corry (Sixmilebridge)
Shane Gleeson (Cratloe)
Jamie Shannahan (Sixmilebridge)
Aidan O'Gorman (O'Callaghans Mills)
Mark McGuane (Clarecastle)
Cian Nolan (Smith O'Briens)
Eoin Tuohy (Feakle)
Niall Bolton (Tulla)
Oisin Pender (Newmarket)
Donal Whelan (Broadford)
Shane Liddy Newmarket - inj

Would aidan o gorman and mark mcguane ever get a look in? Neither seemed too bad when they came on against waterford in the 1st round

While i rate both highly i dont think either will get the start next friday. With Shanahan to come in to the side its going to be hard one of the 6 forwards from the Cork game to lose out.
1 - 9 will be unchanged my forwards would be
10 C. Deacy, 11 Shanahan, 12 Taylor
13 O'Donnell 14 N. Deacy, 15 Duggan

Ward unlucky to lose out but what a choice of forwards with Corry, McGuane, O'Gorman & Gleeson puhing the 6 for positions

Choice of forwards? A good free taker is all we have. It took Shanahan's introduction the last day to spark Clare into life.

o gorman i thought did quite well when he came on against waterford and I would say he's close to the starting lineup. McGuane however when introduced against waterford didnt seem to be fully up to pace and when he got the ball, he drove the ball down the field rather then looking up and finding a man.

what has conor deasy done wrong at ff to be moved wing??

I haven't been impressed with Deasy at 14. He doesn't score enough or win enough possession to link the play up. He's one I'd think should be under pressure to hold his place.

Conor has only scored 3 pts on 2 games at full forward and imo is more suited to the half forward position with his cousin Niall going to full where he would provide more of a threat with his size and ability to win ball, take a score or lay off to supporting players.

Shanahan presence really boosted the team when introduced the other 5 forwards feed off him.

niall was impressive at centre forward all through the club minor championship last year. Was anonymous when moved to full in the final against SMB, Id' say leave him at centre
