Well folks, another major is upon us.
What are ye all thinking? Im still not sure who to pick tbh.
Course although short is a serious driving test, narrow fairways which slope towards 4'' rough means driving accuracy is a must.
Winds gusting to 20mph are also predicted for the first 2 days so that will have an impact also.

Just after watching "The Cut Line with Peter Lawrie" on Setanta. Must say i was surprised by him. He has a good bit more charisma and personality than i thought he had!
Not sure what to pick this week just yet but I'll be having a cut at Bubba at 50s. Must look at the Fantasy team aswell, it was going so well for me the earlier part of last week but all fell away!

us open week!
jesus lads this course is set up for a very low score something like -3 will win i reckon.
had a place in ryan palmer last week so was happy enough with that and ive backed bubba(@80's) and dufner(100-1) since before the masters at big big prices so happy enough about that.
decided to do two more today e/w
Justin Rose, hes starting to come in to some form of late and is well able to string 4 rounds of solid golf together.accuracy is the key here this week,i know its a long course but i think alot of them wont be using the driver on more than 4 or 5 holes.33's
Hunter Mahan,he's a two-time winner this year, has a lot of experience playing in big events and has finished T12 and T19 in his last two major starts.i'm hoping he finds the form thats good enough for this week.@45's
heres hoping for a good weekend of golf and hopefully we will have a winner of a place among us!!

Not overly long Nick. The Congressional last year was 7,574 yards, the Black Course in Bethpage is 7,468. The Olymic is 7,170, even Ballinrobe is longer than it off the Blues measuring 7,300 :)

It's long enough Perth.i didn't say it was the longest but the way it's set up lads will be using the 3 wood or long irons more so than the driver IMO !!!
Are you about tomorrow

I ment to do ricki fowler today.might nip somewhere tomorrow for that.i reckon he's in with a great shout here.phil hasn't been shown any form at all of late but I've always noticed when his odds are big he doesn't disappoint!

Went mad in PP. Did the following so fingers crossed for a return on the investment.
Luke Donald @ 14-1 €10 win
Louis Oosthuizen @ 33-1 €5 e/w
Zach Johnson @ 80-1 €5 e/w
Aaron Baddeley @ 100-1 €2.50 e/w
Thomas Bjorn @ 125-1 €2.50 e/w
Ye Yang @ 150-1 €2.50 e/w
Rafael Cabera Bello @ 200-1 €2.50 e/w
Donald is on the nose, he has to win a major soon considering his current form so hopefully this course will suit him.
Worryingly Zach Johnson had drifted from 40-1 to 80-1 but wasn't gonna change my mind so late.
Oosthuizen has come in from 55-1 on the PP sheet from lunchtime today.
The rest are pot luck at those prices but i think Ye Yang is some price at 150-1.
Cabera Bello went well at Wentworth so chanced him too.
Best of luck lads.

crackin tournament in store. you will see some big names shoot high scores as normal. heard them say the first six holes are animal tough. of the favourites i think woods and westwood will go best. but ill go for a few more against them.
matt kuchar. a solid player. does not make many mistakes. could have won the masters, won the players, finds fairways and greens. 30-1
justin rose. one of the most consistent players in the world. not a great us open record but his style suggests he should play well here. 33-1
johnathon byrd. done him few times recently. lot of top tens. straight and solid. 90-1

Hope so Faldo.
Have to say your picks nearly swayed me. But one of the lads has a saying ''if you write them down, back them'' so i hadn't the heart to.

Go way. Some price considering the money that must be going on him at PP's.
Tbh, if i haven't it in the pocket i don't gamble it.
Online accounts are a no for me, bad enough dropping €50 like i did this evening but i'l be no where near the pub this weekend.
Too much on the box to leave the house.

I have 50 on overall too, since i have the account opened for 5 years now. I am down 300e overall(60e a year).Betfair have better prices on most events, you can't back e/w but you can back a top 5/10 finish.
