Lads I never seen the likes of it around here , the weekend of two big hurling matches and hardly a word about either of them on here.
Anyway could be two good close matches ahead.
Reckon Galway will win with a few to spare, especially now that Joe has been passed fit to play.
The other one is very hard to call but I just about fancy Clare to pull through in this one.

Galway to win
Waterford to win narrowly although i have a sneaky feeling for a draw in that one.

I think the Offaly/Galway game will be very tight. Offaly have some impressive forwards and I can see them getting a few goals, Galway defence looking a little dodgy, esp FB line. Galway do have Joe back but Offaly have Shane Dooley. Not a bad player at all....
Clare to win in munster by 3 points.

galway just about in leinster if joe is carrying an injury or not 100 per cent that could swing it offalys way.both full back lines suspect but should be good game
waterford have good few changes from last year and no tony browne.clare are being hyped up we'll see how good they are sunday evening the pressure seems on them.depends how clare play if they go 15 on 15 they should win but if davy goes defensive they mightin score enough waterford have 4-5 scorin forwards do clare?

Galway to beat Offaly I feel by a few points.
The head says Clare to beat Waterford, I think there's a bit of an unknown element to this one though, do Clare have as much room to raise their game for championship compared to league as other teams this year and you have Waterford coming in completely under the radar.
Looking forward to hurling really kicking off now, no gap weekends for a good while now!

Hard to know about Galway after the Westmeath (not taking anything away from them) game. Canning is a massive addition to the side. Offaly won't be a push over and I reckon Baker will deploy someone to curtail Canning. Offaly by one or two.
Its all down to the gameplan Davy will have and if he will make the changes fast when things go wrong. Clare by 4.

I would be happy with a 1 point Galway win, but then nobody expected Galway to beat Dublin in Relegation play off by 14 points. Canning could just have one of those days, as well as being deadly from the placed ball and put over a sidline cut!
Galway by 1 or 2 points for me!

Galway by 5. Hard to know in the Waterford Clare match. If the delivery is right into that full forward line of Mullane, Walsh and O'Brien, I fancy them to do most damage and win by 2 points.

I surprised so many are going for Galway against Offaly. I can see Offaly scoring goals and winning with a bit to spare but I do hope I'm very wrong on this one. Other match, Waterford to have four or five to spare over Clare.

I would fancy Clare to come through with 3 to 4 points to spare, while Galway will do the same if Joe is fit

If Clare are let hurl (by their manager) and don't get mired down in hand passing and soloing down blind alleys then they will win by 10 points.
The other game is tricky. Offaly have good hurling in them and if it clicks on the day they would be well able to win. Galway could win this game by 20 points or be beaten by 5 or six, but ill go for them to win.

Im going to go with Galway to concede a massive score but still scrape through thanks mainly to Joe Canning. Clare to win the other game. I reckon Waterford were the big losers in this years farce of a league. They are inactive in competitive games now longer then any other county and this will count against them Sunday. At least Dublin and Galway despite a relegation battle had 2 extra games.

interesting to see quite a few going for Offaly. Galway needed a replay to get over them 2 years ago. Bergin and Dooley are hard to mark. Brian Carroll and Brendan Murphy were fine players. I am not so sure about their recent form but if they could turn back the clock the Offaly forwards could cause all kinds of bother.
I still fancy Galway to win though.

Surprised by this myself , I suppose we will see what Galway are really like on Sunday, I wouldn't pay too much attention to the Westmeath game, if you are not fully focused you can always concede a big score in hurling and I just think they were never going to be really up for a match against Westmeath.

Two tough games to call.
Galway have a bit more bite about their play this year so far and are playing as a team and for the 70+ minutes. I like the look and size of the half forward line, should be able to win a bit more ball than has been done by Galway there for a while. Although the Offaly FF linen is dangerous the key for Galway is winning the outfield battles. I will go with a narrow Galway win.
Clare are developing nicely and if they go out and hurl freely could give Waterford big problems. Can't see Davy allowing that so again I expect a close game. Waterford have more experience of Championship battles so I will go with a narrow Waterford win with Mullane the matchwinner.

I know Offaly have been very poor at under age the last 10 years but Offaly had a good under 21 team a few years back. the same year dublin won their 1st leinster under 21. Dublin only narrowly beat Offaly beat Offaly in that final in Parnell Park and Offaly knocked out kilkenny in the semi final i think. Dublin had players like Tom Brady, Joey Boland, Alan McCrabbe, Johnny McCaffrey, Diarmuid Connolly on that team.
I think there is a good scatter of Offaly players from that under 21 team playing senior now. if they hurl like they did against Galway 2 years ago they must have a chance but u d fancy Joe Canning to dig Galway out of any hole they find themselves in sunday

Hard to know what kind of a game we will get sunday. The weather could play a big part if it doesn't let up. Also its 10 weeks no since Waterford have had a competitive game. I am hoping fitness levels have come up a lot in that time.
I am going with heart over head and tipping Waterford to win by a couple of points.
I think Galway will shade the other game over Offaly. Great that we have two games on sunday. We are waiting all year for days like this.
Does anyone have a list of the subs for either side?
I see Jake Dillion, Paudie Nevin, Brian O'Halloran and Gavin Crotty are all named in the Intermediate team.
