Just wondering now we're into July , would you're hopes / expectations have changed much from pre-championship starting based on what you've seen so far ?

From my own point of view Waterford in a Munster final as expected , and the optimist in me says if we win that then it'll be a huge momentum boost to us , especially after last years farce , but looking past the knockout stages in hurling is dangerous , because anyone can be "caught" on the day , cliched I know , so right now I'll settle for the AI and consider that a good year !

Tipp - has to be to win the AI.

I know KK are deservedly favorites but anything less than the Liam McCarthy will be seen as a failure for Tipp and will probably put Declan Ryan under a lot of pressure to keep the job.

Clare - beat Dublin Saturday evening,I'd be happy with that. We got out of D2 and that was progress. No championship win since 2008, thats just not good enough irrespective of who we played.Beat Dublin and we have that duck broken and take whatever else after that.

From a Cork perspective

Football - Everything going to plan so far -
National league won, Kerry negiotated in munster, with respect to clare i expect a munster title on sunday to be added - however Cork without a shadow of a doubt need to win the all ireland and ill reckon they will this year.

Hurling - Ill take making the All ireland semis ..anything after that and its a bonus so early in JBM reign.

I will be gutted, absolutely gutted if Cork dont win the All Ireland football title again this year.

Id be hoping, half expecting Cork to beat everyone bar KK and Tipp thats left in the hurling and put the above two to the pin of their collars when we hopefully do meet one of them in a knockout game!

Galway

Hurling - (Gulp) all going to plan so far. Make Kilkenny sweat on Sunday and win the quarter final and play hurling in August for the first time in 7 years. That would be a good year, anything after that would be a huge bonus.

Football - Beat Antrim on Sunday week and we've done something we haven't done since 2004 (open to correction on that) and beat a team outside Connacht. A quarter final appearance would be a massive achievement.

So to sum it up, if one or both are still playing in August i'd be happy.

Agree totally ABFF..Football All ireland has to be won this year when you consider the talent of this team. They need to win as much as possible when they have the chance.

Antrim - Our minors to win Ulster on Sunday and be competitive in an AI QF.
Beat Galway in football and give the county a lift in what has been another year to forget so far

Football-Nothing less than Cork winning the Munster and All Ireland titles.

Hurling-All Ireland semi finals. We should be able to beat everyone bar Tipp and Kilkenny. I would expect both these sides to win their respective provincial titles so we should be able to beat Offaly, Wexford/Limerick, Galway/Waterford on route to an AI semi final. Who knows if Waterford won Munster and if the draw was kind to us we might make the final but that is real optimistic. My fear is that we will lose to Galway or Waterford in the quarter finals. We should be beating these two to show any signs of progress.

From a Donegal point of view to retain the Ulster Championship, open up play another bit and possibly making the All Ireland Final.

If that happens who knows ?

Hard to say.

I don’t want to give the standard answer that I would take an AI semi-final appearance as we have been long enough getting to them (thankfully), generally without going further.
But winning Munster and getting there to a semi-final I would take with a newish team and management team.

Ideally I would like to get to the AI final and roll the dice, but that is just wishful thinking right now in the development of this team.

hard to see pass kerry winning all ireland , the plan is going perfect so far , donegal would be a slight danger , not too worried about playing any of the rest , ive had a good cut at 4-1 , its close enough to free money , get on before the cat is out of the bag !!

To make Croke Park for the hurlers would be a good year and once there, who knows??

Im afraid the footballers race is run. Even if they manage to win in Longford, I cant see them going much further than the next round

Mayo-to win a Connacht title and an all-Ireland semi would be a decent year, maybe taking a scalp along the way. The Connacht final will be tough against a battle-hardened Sligo though, even in McHale Park.

Meath are already in bonus territory but I'll take a Leinster title if offered. If not to regroup and atleast make the quarters.

For the Model county, Deja vu, everything going according to greater plan.

Footballers snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory once more, Jason Ryan lauded as a great manager by all in the media. At this point I reckon this praise of Ryan is some type of media driven conspiratorial PIss take on Wexford.

The hurlers failed to beat Offaly, that must rank as a failure, need a very decent performance against a top six county in the next round to redeem themselves.

Cork Football- only Sam will do.
Hurling- I would be hopeful that we can beat all except KK, whatever stage we meet them at I would have very little confidence but that will probably change as the time comes closer.
I wouldn't be too dissapointed to lose to Tipp again to be honest as long as it was competitive, the tide will soon turn there.

Hurling - Going well so far. Seniors winning matches while still having lots of room for improvement, need to win the All Ireland.
Minors are very promising, very happy that they're in the Munster final and would love them to win our first All Ireland title at this grade since 07.
I would take a Munster final appearance for the 21s as that would mean that they would have beaten Limerick. Would be hard to see them beat Limerick and Clare.

Football - Disappointed with the league but if we keep Creedon I could see us coming back up next year. Offaly was a game we had to win and did. Would give us a good chance of beating Wexford and will have fingers crossed to draw someone like Clare if we do.
Minors, I would take a Munster win but would love if they could go the whole way again.

Well from a Kerry viewpoint,

Would have liked to win Munster just to get an easier route back to Croker. So now I'm just hoping the lads can sort out whatever malaise seems to be hanging over them these last two months and get through the qualifiers, leaving them confident, battle hardened and ready for another assault on All Ireland in August. And if we could account for Down, Tyrone, Cork and Dublin along the way, it might be our greatest All Ireland ever!!!

As for hurling: Galway to somehow beat Kilkenny on Sunday and show us it is possible!!! After that, someone new getting to the final and hard as it is to think, please God someone new winning it as well (and by that I don't mean Cork!!!!).

Hurling: Seniors get to at least an All Ireland Semi final, Tipp and Kilkenny aside we are as good as anything out there. So why not set our targets for an All Ireland Semi Final. Limerick are a momentum team so from than point of view I hope we get Cork(if they get over Offaly) next. Well capable of beating them.

U21's nothing less than an All-Ireland Appearance will do.

Football: Tough Draw but Longford arent exactly Kerry. Ful Strength Id fancy us to beat them but unfortunately thats not the case. Still Im expecting a backlash from the lads and I reckon it wont be as comfortable for Longford as some people are making out. Let see how they cope with being raging hot favourites for a change

Less said about our senior hurlers year the better but a good performance in the Leinster under 21 final v Kilkenny would be encouraging.
Footballers must beat Monaghan Sunday week for it to be considered any way acceptable. Even that may not be enough to save Justin McNulty's job.
