Trying to get organised for my mates stag,20 30-40yr old men who still think they are 22!! No activities required, just drink and a bit of craic. Most of the lads would prefer to just hit the pub, a game of pool or darts maybe. Later on a late bar maybe. Was thinking dingle but thats out now, as is kenmare. Have my eye up west now, not galway city because we'd get split up but what about Oranmore or Athenry? Carlow maybe? Any advice would be great, Killarney has been done to death but any other ideas would be very helpful. Thanks

Jimmy, for that agegroup, I recommend Kinsale. Was really surprised, beautiful town, no grief from night clubs, some cracking pubs/restaurants, not cheapest but where is in Ireland anymore.
Westport also good!

Westport, seriously good spot but depending on where you live a serious trek. Worth it though, being there twice and will again.
Kinsale is a great spot too, Dungarvan is good craic. All depends where ye live and how far ye want to travel.
My number one is Westport, ye won't be disappointed.
( Kilkenny is a fine town but the Door men are wan*ers, beware )

Sorry lads I should have stated we are not looking for your typical stag venue, been and done Westport, Kilkenny etc. Thanks for the suggestions, Cavan would be great but accommodation would be impossible. Some of us are travelling in stag bus and 2hrs drive is probably our max, most of us are travelling from Limerick. Athenry was suggested as was Oranmore, direct train from Limerick for those who are coming late and worried about driving the day after was one plus. Kinvara is a lovely spot but probably a lot quieter than it used to be. Would these places be too quiet, its always nice to meet a few people nicer than ourselves. Am I fooling myself in thinking we won't have to hit the busier spots, Galway, Kilkenny, Cork, we would just get split up, refused entry etc etc. Accommodation would be sorted in Oranmore and easy access to niteclub and bars, is there much going on in Athenry? Thanks again.

Thanks lads, Milltown might be interesting, been there a few times and always good crack. Spent a good evening in Birr after a game too, Whelehans was hopping. Is it still tipping away, that was 10yr ago. Still no feedback on Oranmore or Athenry, the Galway crowd must be gone to the capital early. The plan is to stop on the way for pints and pool, head for our destination, freshen up,grub and more and more pints. Hopefully music with a bit of craic, maybe late bar or disco for the more adventurous/still standing. I'll run with the few ideas and get the verdict. Keep them coming.

If ye have the use of a Helicoptor Jimmy, a real gem is Bellmullet. Its a long way up there but some spot.
Lads from Mayo side might know better but there is a festival up there during the summer when ex pats come home. Town does be hopping.
Was at a stag there years ago and it was mighty.

Was at stag recently in Killaloe, and it was great. Some great pubs and locals were good craic. Also have been on one to Kilkee and also a very good option.

Wouldn't be much in Oranmore to be honest, as it's fairly close to Galway anyways, the CIE buses pass through till late enough so you can get into town for about 1.80. Don't think there'd be much by the way of clubbing but there's a few solid pubs on the main street alright.
