May as well get this thread started. Will be a close enough game I'd say. I'm guessing the Limerick team will be some way along the lines of this.
1. Aaron Murphy
2. Alan Dempsey
3. Dan Morrisey
4. Steve O'Reilly
5. Brain Cleary
6. Cathal McNamara
7. Tom O'Callaghan
8. Robert Egan
9. Seanie O'Brien.
10. Niall Kennedy
11. Declan Hannon
12. Shane Dowling
13. Mikey Ryan
14. Kevin Downes
15. Willie Griffin.

Will Mark Carmody not make it?

Thomas Ryan will start half back. Barry O Connell was close to the starting team last year so I expect him to start this year since his a year older. He showed great strenght at the end of the minor game against Clare to get that goal last week.
Mark Carmody will have to start. I heard he could be midfield against Tipp. His being tried out there in recent challenge games against Galway and Kilkenny.
Isn't Aaron Murphy overage or am I wrong?
Kevin O Donnell should be close to the starting team from last year. His a good option to have as he can play half forward or half back.

Forgot about Tomas Ryan! Ya as you said he'll start half back. Mark Carmody still has another 2 years to go at this grade so I think he will be kept in reserve. Aaron Murphy was minor in 2009 so he is definitely underage. Is Kevin O'Donnell on the panel?

Brian Cleary is in the US. Kevin O'Donnell departed the panel a few months ago. I would start Carmody. Aaron Murphy is underage.

Limerick will have to put alot of thought into who plays in the half back line as Tipps half forward line is there strongest line in there team with 2 dangerous forwards in Curran and O'Dwyer. I would like to see Thomas Ryan picking up O'Dwyer. O'Dwyer got MOTM in Tipps win against Cork chipping in with 3 points from play and 6 frees. We are going to need a really good tight Man Marker on Seanie Curran at centre forward for Tipp. There is a good chance Barry O Connell could be centre back but he can be a bit loose at times.Maybe Tom O Callaghan can handle Curran. Anyone any ideas.

Why has Kevin O Donnell departed the panel? His being playing well for Kilmallock this season at half forward. Is he gone abroad?

O'Donnell is a huge loss. Very good hurler. Holds his position well, great reader of the game and is well able to carry the ball out of defense as well. Felt Brian Cleary should have started last year. Who could you drop to bring in Carmody?

You would have to start Carmody. He can get scores and will take defenders on. Plus his on the Senior panel and would have alot of experience and good training gained with the seniors. He would def start ahead of Kennedy anyway.

It's not often that I would give a Tipp team little chance against anyone in a Munster Semi final, but I think Tipp face a real uphill battle in this one.
It was poor Tipp minor team 3 years ago and despite showing good character against Cork it looks an average U21 team now.
I know they have beaten KK in a couple of challenge matches but these tell you very little in reality.
I am sure they will show a bit of character here as well and they have 2 or 3 good prospects but all logic points to an easy enough win for a very strong Limerick team.

Tipp slaughtered Limerick at minor three years ago. Plus they'll have a far better build up to this one with just one player on the senior panel.
The first time the full Limerick u-21 panel will meet up will be on Sunday morning - and that is assuming no injuries are picked up in the heat of a bruising senior championship match the night before. Even if they emerge unscathed there is the issue of fatigue.
All the smart money is on Tipp.

Tipp have lost David Collins to a bad ankle injury since the Cork game, He was very influential when moved out to the half forward line, late on in Cork.
The positive for Tipp is the return of Jason Forde who starred for Nenagh CBS in their Harty run and he will probably start next Wednesday night.

For what it's worth, Waterford played Limerick in a challenge up above in Limerick last Monday evening and won. By all accounts the Waterford performance was excellent from what I heard off a member of the backroom team. I wouldn't imagine any of the U21's on senior played for either side though so make of it what you will.

Pauric Mahony played the whole game for Waterford as did a few other senior panellists. Good to see Mahony back hurling, a fine player.
Limerick had no seniors at all. Game finished in a 3 point win for Waterford.

Cheers Limmer, I didn't know Paudie played. I suppose that must mean he's in good shape to start for Sunday.
Limerick will be well strengthened with the likes of Dowling, Hannon and Downes for next week so.
