Following the case from the media it's hard to judge but it seems to me that the police in Mauritius cocked this up from start to finish. Unlikely now that the woman and her family will ever get justice. What a bloody farce.

Without any DNA evidence always going to be difficult. read this interesting article on the BBC website about an alleged Irish couple leaving late in the night.

Well in their defense, if you were staying in a hotel and a guest was murdered; what might you do?

Guests shouldn't be allowed leave until questioned. I wonder were they irish and whether questioned about what happened.
This verdict will lead to a lot of speculation.

It seems to be complete speculation. Surely, the hotel have everybody's details and it would be easier to find out who they were.

Scandalously poor taste from a Sunday paper out in Mauritius publishing police photos of the crime, showing the scene and the recently deceased victim.

Papers in Ireland regularly do the same? Is it one rule for Ireland and another for those countries?

Can you please point me to an example of a court case in Ireland where an Irish media outlet published pictures of the murder victim's body taken at the crime scene?
