I know there was a topic on this last year, but seriously what an achievement this is for career longevity. How must this man look after himself? To be selected to start in a Munster final where there will be guys that he is twice as old as playing is an unbelievable achievement.
I hope he has a fantastic game.
Top man. Well done.

For an amateur game the discpline is unreal ....have an "off" season for a few weeks and when out on the town no more than 3 pints , stick to a regimented diet from Oct - Mar , eat nothing from tins or packets ...it grows / walks or swims and then gets grilled or boiled ....phenomenal to see at 1st hand .

Delighted to see Tony line out again. Just hope his legs are up to the task. Am hoping the lads put in a massive effort and you never know, it might be enough for us to cause a shock.

Legend.
Yes but he will face a 24 year old. Sure he is a legend. However he no longer has the speed necessary to mark his immediate opponent. When his immediate opponent is loose who will cover him? The full back line will be easily opened up. Thats the reality. The Munster Final is no place for sentiment. I hope I am wrong. However I fear not.

He wouldnt be there if they felt he wasnt up to it. He was one of their best performers the last efw times they met.

Browne is a ledgent he owes Waterford, or the hurling public nothing but this is not a good decision, we have plenty of good strong up and coming hurlers and this sends out the wrong message.
I would not rule out giving him playing time at some stage, his expierience is a definite plus but starting in a Munster Final at 39 No way.
This is one ocassion i sincerely hope im proved wrong.

Tony no longer has the speed. I disagree with the selectors on this. Tipp play with lightning speed. I fear very much for Waterford. There will be a loose Tipp wing forward bearing down on the full backline. The consequences are just too horrible to contemplate if this goes wrong. Tony is no longer 29. He is now 39. I just hope I am wrong and that he plays well.

I really hope you're right, Déise - would love to see it.
We started one of our elder statesmen at centre forward yesterday and it didn't work out. We got away with it and ended with a favourable result but Clare wouldn't have the clinical power, speed and confidence (yet) that Tipp have and I would be worried that Tipp could put the game out of Waterford's reach within a 5-10 minute spell before selectors organise a change - a bit like they did to us in Croke Park a few years ago.
I hope I'm wrong. C'mon na Déise!

Crazy decision by Waterford to have him playing today alright.
