Sporting rivalries are a strangely co-dependent thing. All but the most committed Celtic supporters have been slightly confused by their unrelenting celebration at the demise of the blue half of the ‘old firm’, with ever doubtful return. But that is the nature of that rivalry – blind ignorance and hatred; to the death...

Interesting to see Geraghty was used for the photoshoot and not one of the players. The twitter accounts of all the Meath players has gone quiet too, Banty seems to be doing his best to shield them from the hype.
Have my tickets now over a week, cant fcuking wait!

This has the potential to be a cracker. As I wrote anout the fixture 2 years ago, Meath must go into this with no fear. I was at the semi-finals, and I must say, Meaths young lads impressed me.
They need to ignore reputations the next day out, but also, it's vital that they at least break even at mid-field, and be first to the break to ensure a good supply to the forwards. Finally, whoever is taking the frees, musn't get phased by the reaction on The Hill.

Very poorly written article. Basically this lad likes Dublin, his wife is from Meath and he doesn't like Kildare. What was the point exactly?

I can see where the writer is coming from regarding Mick Lyons not drinking champagne in the Navan night club from his antics on the field of play a most courageous and indeed very skilful fullback.I often met him on the sidelines when he was with the Summerhill underage lads playing against us and a more mild mannered and gentle being I haven't met.
Although a Limerickman I with the family will be in the lower hogan on sunday supporting Meath, there should be some real fireworks in this game, rarely do the Dubs waltz through Meath. After a very exciting and titanic contest I expect Meath to prevail by a point or two.
