Am heading up that way at the weekend.

Kids will be happy enough on the beach anyway but is there anything in particular that would be worth bringing them to?

Walk the green road around the headland until you can see into Galway bay. Might sound boring but there is nothing like it.

Coming out of the beach carpark take a left and go about 500m and park in on the right.

Its an awesome walk going upward all the way until you reach the headland where it is spectacular, the good thing is its mainly downhill on the way back for the kids.

Well worth it, its free, and probably not that busy.

If they like Ice-cream, this crowd are over near New Quay

There is a small play area out the back for (very) small kids.

It's also beside flaggy shore which is a nice walk (3 miles on quiet roads) and close to Linnanes for a bit of grub.

Lots of nice walks in the area:

It's a bit early for mackerel off Blackhead but check out around Doolin to get a boat trip...

Rainy days hit for the caves or Russell Gallery:

Don't think the missus would be too impressed if Junior went and did (another) Cul Camp while on holidays though he'd be only too delighted if he could!

Why not check out the Michael Cusack centre up in Carron which was opened a few years ago Barry.I have not been there yet but it is located in his original home they tell me and being that you are going to be in the area might be worth a look.
