All the signs are there. Many years of hurt and plain bad luck in recent years.
Crucified by the media - McGeeney will work the siege mentality.
Big physical team, some damn fine players. Not on form but it's only July. Run in the qualifiers likely.
I witnessed the wailing and tears in 1998 - the hunger must be fierce.
And finally no other big team (Kerry, Cork, Mayo, Dublin, Donegal) lighting up the championship so fairly open so far.

PaddyPower says 12/1

I sense a disturbance in the Force...

Just as I thought at the start of the year.I think they will get to the quarter finals (after 2 tough games) and who knows after that they will have a bit of momentum and the provincial winners could be caught cold. They havent been far off the top 2 or 3 in the past and Kildare are a team who will give any team a game
Anyone but FF

No Leinster title since 2000, Losing to a very ordinary Meath team when the pressure of championship started, Pinning a lot of hopes on a very average forward from another county. The Kildare hype bubble has well and truly burst.

To win the All Ireland Kildare are going to have to beat 2 possibly 3 of Cork, Kerry, Dublin or Donegal. They are not capable of that.

The All Ireland will be won by Cork, Dublin or Kerry. The rest of us are playing catch up. At the moment i would rate Mayo ahead of Kildare, they've been operating in Div 1 for many years and have actually done the business against a Tier 1 team (Cork) in the championship.

I'd assess Kildare as very close to Wexford alveit with a couple better footballers. McGeeney's approach is similar to Jason Ryan's in many ways in that they'll give everybody a game and will never be hammered but ultimately, they don't have the players or the system to beat anybody of real substance

An impressive side who will run anyone in the championship close, but IMO they lack a couple of quality forwards to get them over the line. There have been too many games in the last two to three years where a rake of wides has cost them, and you need to be economical going up against the likes of Cork, Dublin and Kerry, when you're not going to have much more than half of the possession.

Sam who? What county does he live and work in now?

I suppose he can pretend to live in Kildare though if necessary.

They won't beat Limerick on Saturday, so the answer has to be no.

According to most pundits this Kildare team are so good that I'm wondering should Limerick bother turning up on saturday. Then when I reflect on the fact that they got so upset over loosing home advantage, maybe they themselves don't have huge belief.A new makeshift Meath team who were on the ropes coming into their game with Kildare gave them a footballing lesson. They look like a side always,in recent years, on the periphery of achievement but unable to nail it.

Quite simply..No...They do not have the fire power and creativity or defence to win an AI. Cork, Dublin, Kerry, Mayo and Donegal are all ahead of them. Just stay with Kildare for 10 mins into the second half and you will beat them with football..An example was against Meath, bombing balls into full forward was not working so brought Early into FF and bomb balls into him instead, meanwhile Meath bring on 2 footballers and kick points from all angles!

Leave it out Bosco and stick with the thread you might learn something

From what Ive seen it Cork Donegal Dublin Down Tyrone Mayo Kildare Meath in that order.
Kildare must tighten up at CB and midfield forwards are as good as any around

I dont know Dunkin cant agree on the forwards, Cork and Dublin forward units are excellent and Donegal have some excellent forwards and have improved as a unit alot from last year I dont know what it is about Kildare but for me if you take out their fitness levels and powerful running I think they lack a few forwards with real natural ability that are required to win an AI.

1 Connolly
2 P Kelly
3 Foley
4 McGrillen
5 Bolton
6 M Flaherty
7 Lyons/Eoin Doyle
8 Flynn/Lynch
9 R Kelly/Lynch
10 E Flaherty
11 E Callaghan
12 Kavanagh/Conway
13 J Doyle
14 O Connor
15 Smith

Well Cork Donegal Dublin are my top 3 as well above is my selections certainly I think Kavanagh will have to more involved from start to finish if he is to keep his place like it or not SJ is in the dugout and Padraig Fogarty. Very important Callaghan with his quick brain is back. Big loss not starting against Meath.

What? That Kerry aren't in the top 8 teams in the country?

Kildare aren't good enough to win the All Ireland. They've been throwing money at it for the last 20 years and they're no closer now than they've ever been.

Have you ever heard the call from someone at a match COME ON REF DO YOU JOB.

AFR EDITORS I think its about time you heard that call as well and delt with Bosco and Skoda how much more room are you going to afford this pair. I have been watching their carry-on over a good while now and the nonsense they are getting away with on this site is a joke.

Last night we had a decent exchange going on this thread (as unlikely as the title was) when in comes Bosco followed shortly by his ALTER EGO Skoda with off the wall comments cut and pasted from points that had been flogged to death on other threads earlier in the week when the SJ and KMcG and KCB story was in full flow.

Now isn't it about time ED you got these two by the ears and gave them a little time in the sin bin.

Alternatively you could set up a thread especially for them alone; Where they could rattle back and forth to one another to their heart content.

One final suggestion when you have them isolated hold a poll on AFR about every 3 months asking the genuine contributors to this site if their contrition is complete and should we let them back into the mainstream.

With all due respect. I've been using the bosco32 name for the past 5 years and have a total of 543 posts which indicates that I post sporadically (and even less in the past couple of years as I feel the forum is not as good as it used to be). So I don't know how you've been "watching my carry on" to be quite honest as I've probably posted less than 20 times this year.

In addition, I don't have an alter ego. I really don't have time for such pathetic bulls**t to be quite honest.

Kildare's underhanded ways of improving their football fortunes in the past twenty years disgust me and a lot of other genuine GAA people who appreciate what the association is about. I'm entitled to express my opinions on that on this forum and I'll ask you to respect that. You are entitled to your opinion as well of course, that's what a forum is about. If you want to have people admonished when you don't like what they have to say then maybe you should spend your time on other activities.

Am I missing something here are Kildare the only county ever to poach a player, in my Ash they are. Most hated county in GAA since when, I hope they win the AI this year just to hear the venom spleened on here. Come on the Lillies.
