Just talking today and we were wondering who will get the support in Thurles from the other games "neutrals" , obviously I'll shout for Waterford , then Limerick in the 2nd game , but a few in Waterford seem to think we'll attract some rare support from Kilkenny next week due to the seemingly fraught nature between Kilkenny and Cork the last few years , and that usual "prejudices" like border proximity etc wont be in play as much , what ye think ?

Limerick [I never shout for Kilkenny unless they're playing Offaly]
Waterford [Don't really like Cork. Their footballers are ok though.]

Limerick and Cork for various reasons one of which is that KK and Blaa supporters are knacks.

Limerick because they are my third favorite county after Clare due to family connections. As a Galwayman would love to see them in an AI final after they take care of Tipp who they should have beaten the last day. Galway vs Limerick, how novel would that be, 1980/81 all over again.
Cork because as a Galway supporter I would prefer at the moment to face Cork rather than Waterford. I think Galway have improved more than Cork since last year and we all know what happened last year. Galway as they showed against Kilkenny are much more physical this year which was a weakeness in prior years. Galway have problems with Waterford historically and would have to find a way to neutralize key players like Mullane, Moran and Brick. I think they could do it but it would be some battle and Waterford are experienced in battles.

Waterford....always admire their hurling passion and I would like Galway to have a crack at them because we owe them a beating. And actually I think for a change we might have a better handle on Waterford than on Cork.

Will be completely neutral in the other one. Obviously because of their lack of success I would be delighted for Limerick if they win but I would like whoever wins this match to also beat Tipp and KK are better equipped for that.

Would like Limerick to do the business against Kilkenny. This is a huge game from a Kilkenny perspective, there response to a Leinster final hammering will be very interesting to see. They will try and blitz Limerick early on, but if limerick can stay alive until the second half they will have a serious chance, like Galway they have good young forwards that are capable of putting a score up on any team.

Will have a huge interest in the other game, but I'm not sure who i will be going for. I think Waterford will win as they have the better players and more experience than this Cork team. Having said that Cork are capable of cutting loose, since the Tipp game they have won all their games comfortably enough, which they were expected to do. I was however very underwhelmed with Cork in the Tipp vs Cork game. If it is Waterford, Galway won't be found wanting for motivation at all. Waterford are owed a bad beating from Galway at some stage. It will happen some year, hopefully it might be this year.

Other than Cork I go with Galway second and Limerick a close third.Tipp have risen on my barometer over the last few years as they play a nice brand of hurling. That said if it was waterford and Tipp in the final you'd have to support the blaas.
No time for KK since league 09 and it will be a long time before i will which is unfortunate as I had a lot of KK friends in UCC

Kilkenny obviously for me in the second one. If I was neutral the only way I'd back Limerick is if they were playing Tipp or Cork, and if they were playing Clare or Galway I wouldn't care either way.

Waterford are second for me always, lived there for a few years and it was good craic (hung out with mostly Kilkenny, Wexford and Cork people but the Waterford lads were some laugh). Fond memories away from the hurling would get me backing them, and I always liked their style of hurling. And they're playing Cork.

A real GAA person in North Waterford will nearly always cheer for us once we're playing anyone but them. For a couple of reasons but mainly that they get no joy out of others beating us, they just want to do it themselves, so they can come into the city and tease us. Theres nothing happier than a cat thats got its Snowcream.

On a separate note I'll be cheering for Limerick!!

Thats what I was wondering about in my initial post , lots of tension there between Cork n KK , be it Stepford Wives or SIPTU jibes at each other since 09 etc

I guess I will go for Waterford in the first game.
ProjX was putting me off Limerick but Hurling needs Limerick back with the Clare's, Galway's, Wexford,s, Offaly's etc.
I have great admiration for this Kilkenny team and love the way they play so its just a slim nod for Limerick.

I think Cork and Kilkenny will win though.

I want Kilkenny to win, because if Limerick were to win it would mean that we wouldn't be the team to put the final nail in the Cody Dynasty coffin
(not saying it might otherwise happen this year, but if Limerick were to beat them we'd probably see mass retirements from their ranks)

I'd marginally prefer Cork in the other game, though I wouldn't shed any tears if Waterford won

The Liam McCarthy cup is coming home to Limerick in 2012.

My wish so. Limerick to collect Liam McCarthy in Dublin and leave you up there with no Internet access.

Waterford because I would love to see them do well but not against Limerick.

I would disagree completely with you on the Cork footballers though. I had this discussion with someone on Saturday.

Time, for Limerick to win the All Ireland, going without Internet and being stranded in Dublin is a very small sacrifice.

Limerick and Waterford, but i dont mind if Cork win, they are a more likeable bunch now under JBM, especially with most of the 00s crew gone.

And if Kilkenny win and then go on and beat Tipp will it be the end of the current Tipp setup with Lar, Kelly, O'Brien and Cummins going? And end Brendan Maher's dream of 5-in-a-row?

You're right though, if Limerick win there will be a few retirements, losing to an established top side like Tipp is one thing and half-expected, losing to Limerick is another. Limerick are rising but they're not as good as they or others think they are yet, if Kilkenny lose we could see some fella's bow out.

Also Cody's dynasty won't be nailed down that easy, I don't see him retiring without Liam by the Nore.
