The only one I can recall is PJ O Connell for Clare in the 90s, always had the tanned legs...
Liam McHale with Mayo was another one...

George O'Connor of Wexford. Rossiter is carrying on the Sunny South East tradition at the moment.

ah lads, ye can't inlcude the likes of O hAilpin or Chin who would be very sallow skinned to start with!
I'm talking of lads who made a point of hitting Kilkee or Lahinch on a fine day to get the auld tan to go with the moustache. Probably had a Nissan Sunny or Nissan Bluebird as well down at the beach, and some Adidas Roms, mayve a pair of stonewashed Levis too..... Those were the days.......

My good friend Gerry O'Grady was always very well tanned. He got a right going over from some of the ladsa there last year when Mohammed Ali's roots were traced back to Grady's in county Clare.
Brendan Bugler seems to have taken over Gerry's mantel in the current side.

well, with the white boots now, it would only enhance the tan. I wonder would the tanned lads have come in for some stick in the club games. "ya fancy hoor!". You would have had many with tans from the neck up, and elbows down, but the tanned legs took some work. Socks would have been rolled down too.
Combine it with a mullet or something from Wham....

@Young Hopper.
If N16 is friends with a GAA player with tanned legs, then that is good enough for me!

I'm involved with an u21 team lads and the one thing im noticing is that young lads these days wouldn't have much of the hairy chest or back going on.
I'd be hairy enough front and back myself so I would and have been from my late teens.
Don't know why the young lads don't get it, its gas.
Hard to believe really.
I don't get a tan myself so I don't, often get reddened a few times each summer so I do.

PJ is the model on which Paul Galvin based himself ... Pale imitation imo, PJ had the look of a a charming French musketeer whereas Galvin seems to have gone down the scruffy mutt with skinny jeans look... Amateur
