Has anyone else been watching this? They basically came up with a pretty interesting idea for a programme and then made a b@lls of it by getting John Creedon to present it. The programme has consisted of him telling terrible jokes and then finishing up every episode with him dressing up in 16th or 17th century dress costumes and acting the maggot prancing about the place. Do RTE do anything right?

wat u must realise is that during the summer rte put utter muck on the box as most people are away in west clare sitting in caravan enjoying the rain or for the d4 types of in marbella.
The programme is an eye sore should have been commissioned in the first place.probably cost about 500 quid to make to cover creedons petrol and lunch's

I was actually quite angry over this last night, nothing positive about Limerick whatsoever. Surely people are fed up of looking at Moyross on the box by now, not to mind Thomond Park. How far outside the city is Moyross anyway? If it was Dublin they wouldn't be out in Tallaght. As for the ghost in the market, Jesus wept!

Every programme has been as bad bb. The one about Galway every single shot was from down near the Spanish Arch-the budget obviously didn't allow crossing over the bridge from the West. We were discussing it a few weeks ago in relation to the Limerick programme and said I bet it will be about Moyross and Munster All Blacks 1978 and hey presto RTE deliver on cue. What we didn't know was they would throw in the ghost thing-fcuk me that was riveting TV.

Reeling in the years has been dragged out again to fill in 30 minutes after the shorter six one news as must be Rte's holiday time. It was a great programme but they're constantly repeating it.

Munster rugby and Moyross, YAWN. That Milk Market aspect then was pure car-crash tv. They did a documentary a while back on Ireland's main streets, and the one on O'Connell St, while not brilliant, was infinitely better than that muck last night.

Oh dear god, i was looking forward to watching it and seeing what they said about Limerick.
About 2/3's the show was about Munster rugby. "Limerick is a rugby city" utter bol*x, that sort of stuff sickens me. Of course we had to hear about this 'famous' All Blacks win AGAIN. Even when he wasn't talking about Munster rugby they had Thomand park over his shoulder. Gaa might as well not exist here in Limerick.
The Milk Market thing, i could have cried with embarrassment. Car crash telly.
Creedon he seemed like a nice enough fella in fairness to him i thought but cracking jokes is not his forté, pure cringe...

What is it about RTE and the bunch of clowns they have on their payroll;
John Creedon
Marty Morrissey
Ger Canning
Kevin McStay
We could go on and on.....

In fairness John Creedon is an absolute gent and a decent radio broadcaster, last nights show was the first time I've had reason to complain about him.
Without John we would never have had Terence, now Ireland would have been an even poorer place in the late 80s

Agreed. I met him once. A gentleman of the highest order. Good radio show too. Not sure about his tv output though....

Being a nice man shouldn't be criteria for presenting programmes on RTE though. He has been absolutely terrible in all the programmes I've watched.

As a fellow City fan , I have great time for John Creedon. This programme however is a shambles. When first advertised, I was actually looking forward to it.The Dublin edition, was quite good to begin with, the scenes around and underneath the Liffey were espescially informative.John is prone to buffoonery, and he indulged himself with wigs and pistols, cringefest.Opportunity lost, in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of Creedon's radio show, but this tv effort is just painful. It reminds me of a primary school essay.

It should be enough to discourage anonymous internet abuse though, not that anything said here was over the top though.
I think he could have done a show in and around the city centre, someone mentioned the show about O'Connell st, that was really good.
I don't think its possible to give an accurate flavour of the Limerick soviet in a couple of minutes despite best intentions.

I wouldn't want to abuse the man but if he is being well paid to be a TV presenter, then his performances should be subjected to scrutiny and he has been terrible in all of these programmes.

I notice he is only visiting Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. Does Ireland not have more than 4 cities?

He is very good on radio, and thats where his talent lies. He won some stupid reality RTE thing on tv a couple of years back, and suddenly RTE decided he got votes so lets stick him on tv.
Saw last nights episode and it was terrible, haven't seen the other ones thankfully.
Leave him on radio, its what he is good at.

The thing on the Milk Market was pretty poor, but the rest of it was alright, fairly light summertime TV. Thought the one on Galway was interesting enough, particularly the nuns in the enclosed order. Think Creedon comes across very well, seems to have a warm personality which stands to him on both radio and TV.

Great idea, plenty of good material but surprise surprise, it's muck! Creedon, nice chap an all I'm sure he is, can't help acting like the class clown every now and then and he's just not that funny. Its like the producers can't make up their minds whether it's a straight travel type documentary or a bit of a 'light hearted' look around the country or a bit of both, ending up with a little bit of something for everyone, dogs dinner of a programme.
On top of it all, his bizarre fetish for dressing up in period costume would keep a team of psychiatrists busy for a year! Pity, could have been good.

The only one I saw was the Galway one, and it was enjoyable enough, if not exactly award-winning television.
