Had a savage lunch today in JP Clarke's in Bunratty, a sea bass "special", the missus had an excellent crab bake and the kids had goujons of fish and chicken which were as good as could be expected. This is certainly the best pub grub in the Limerick city area for my money.
Any thoughts?

Not sure if they open for lunches but I've eaten in the Creamery in Bunratty a few times before-absolutely cracking grub. I got the surf n turf one night-it was first class.

The only food that should be eaten in pubs is peanuts crisps and possibly a toasted sandwich

Was up in Doolin years ago and one of the pubs doing grub was unreal! Can't remember the name.
Finnegans in Limerick is always pretty good, The Ragg Pub outside Thurles is another good spot for a spud.
Chasers in Pallasgreen was always a good spot to call into after a match in Limerick but i haven't being there in years.

Brought the wife to a great little place in the East Village, NY last Saturday. Every 4th drink is on the house and they have free finger food. A novel twist is that each stool is numbered and they have a free draw every half hour. The winner goes upstairs and gets laid. I had no luck but the wife won 4 times.

I used to eat a lot on the road because I worked on the road for about 5 years or so. I never really took to Finnegans to be honest and would have eaten there a good bit. It was convenient rather than top class. Good for breakfast allright. But then again, anywhere that does breakfast is good.
It wouldnt be as good as say Scotts near Mary I, Russells on Fr Russell Road and Synnotts in Annacotty which are all excellent for carvery. Chasers was good when the Woodlands Fitzgeralds had it, and I ate a lot there because I happened to be working around there at the time. It was taken over then, and it was good a few years ago but I dont know what it is like now.
There are a lot of places that wouldnt be great to be honest, but you would be eating there because its the handiest on a given day. If you are into the chinese, Zweton do good lunch specials with free soup and are located beside both Synnotts and Russells.

We went to a great little spot here in Pensacola recently that serves up classic southern food. O mother of mary was it good. I ordered the chicken and waffles and she got country friend steak. Both got mashed potatoes w/gravy and a side of mac and cheese. It really was a joy.

How much and where is it out there? I'm taking our lads to a day in the folk park soon and I would love to try something like this.

You'll pass it on the left off the limerick road just before the castle. Same premises as gsllaghers seafood restaurant. Genorous main courses between 10 and 14 euros, steak is 20. Kids meals are 7. It's really top class and service is fantastic

I'd have an amount of time for the roast beef so I would.
Mashed spuds. Roast spuds. All the veg. Gravy. A few chips.
Christ its the way God wanted us fed I'd say.
A top top dinner.
What do ye think lads?

The Glen Tavern in Limerick, just up from Henry St cop shop, does great lunches and sambos and you dont have to mortgage the house for them.

Brogans irish pub across from fulham broadway tube station does a great Irish stew, and the butchers hook pub straight across the road from the iconic stamford bridge also has a great menu with the nicest home made bread I ever tasted!!
