Game of weekend lads; the south's Kingdom versus the conquerors of the north (sorry being getting into Game of Thrones recently!).

I expect a big crowd from Kerry up for this and I assume the Donegal support will be huge. Kerry are unchanged from last two matches while Donegal have yet to name their side. I'd expect McGuinness to go back to a more defence system and try and pick off scores on the break. I would say McGuinness is banking on his sides youth and fitness to be able to stay in game and keep scoreline relatively low and then when it enters the final minutes to open up and try and get the few scores to see Donegal over the line.

I'm sure McGuinness will have these lads ready to run through a brick wall by the time they leave the dressing rooms but f I was Jack I'd get Kerry to go from it from throw in, try and pile on the scores before Donegal can settle into the match and hope that given their inexperience at this level, the heads might start to drop and the reality of the task they face begins to overburden them. Goals will be crucial and if Kerry can get one or two I think they will be well on their way.

Been reading a few previews and they favour Kerry slightly. I have to believe there is one or two big performances left in this great side. Many of their iconic players like Tomas must be contemplating retirement at the season's end, I can't believe they would want to end their career in a whimper, especially after the Dublin match last year. From what I've seen in recent weeks I think there is definitely one more All Ireland in them, if a bit of luck can go their way this year. Having finally beaten Tyrone I can't seem them giving their critics more ammo by talk of another northern boogie team catching them out.

Also as someone mentioned, Donegal will be starting 13 or 14 of the side that got hockied by Kerry in the League last March in the open plains of Killarney. The wide open spaces of Croker should play into Kerry's hands and make it more difficult for Donegal's defence to mark up as tightly as they would like.

All in all its going to be one hell of a scrap and some game to look forward to. Head and heart say Kerry by 3, they have too much experience and attacking talent and some of them know this could be last time they get to play in Croker, that fear will drive them on.

Lets get ready to rumble!!!! An Riocht Abu!!!!

Kerry (SFC v Donegal) - B Kealy; M Ó Sé, A O'Mahony, S Enright; T Ó Sé, E Brosnan, K Young; A Maher, B Sheehan; P Galvin, Declan O'Sullivan, D Walsh; J O'Donoghue, C Cooper, K Donaghy

Can people stop referring to Croke Park as "A wide open plain " or something similar.Croke Park is no bigger than most other county grounds, it only looks bigger because the Stands are so big and the TV cameras are further away from the pitch.

I would say Donegal are going to go back to the tactics they used in the semi finals against Dublin last year. They were a little too loose in the Ulster final and I cant see that happening again.

Get out your ruler Fraiser and measure Fitzgerald's or Croker against the like of either Cusack Park, Ballybofey etc, I think you'll notice the difference!

I can't wait for Sunday. I believe Kerry will win but I am expecting a different donegal to what we have seen this year. I would expect to see something similar to what they produced v Dublin in last years semi final. All the talk of how donegal have tweaked their game and have pushed more players forward is fine, but I ask the question, vs who?

It's going to be a big step up for them to compete v Kerry on Sunday. One that when u break it down, personally I feel they will come up short in.

What I am most looking forward to is watching this famour donegal system. Everyone is talking about it but no one is offering a real insight into what they actually do for 70 mins.

Do they get everyone behind ball?

Do they kick or is it all hand pass until they get in front of goal?

Do they ever stop running?

Do they crowd defense / midfield?

Is it more that coincidence that corner backs are coming up scoring?

Questions, questions. All will be revealed Sunday. It won't be pretty but it will be Intreuging.

I can't wait for it to unfold.

This is a real tough call Hermit with little or no prior history between the two to go by.If the Kingdom can scrape the win here they will sure as hell earn it.Kingdom to advance to a repeat with ould enemy in two weeks or so I say.Now there would be the real match of the season that every football fan would just drool over.Fingers crossed man.

I'll be cheering on The Kingdom
Even though I won't be there, according to some AFR Galwegians
And my ticket is only a figment of my imagination
(according to same)

It will be a classic case of Beauty and The Beast, although Donegal have shown some signs of bringing more depth to the game; albeit I think that the performance that did most to convert former unbelievers was the Ulster Final against Down where the latter just seemed to give up the ghost after the interval.
Donegal's defensive organisation will be a test of Kerry's resolve: I think Kieran Donaghy, even more than The Gooch, needs to have another big game for The Kingdom to triumph.
But I'm tipping them to triumph by 2 points.

there is no history. The is the first time they have played in the championship. The only county Kerry haven't played in the championship is Kilkenny and barring a a masssive change of heart in Kilkenny this isnt going to happen any time soon

It isn't any bigger than most other grounds most county grounds are pretty much the same size as they have the 65 about 3 or 4 yards from the midfield and the size of Croke Park is neither an advantage or disadvantage to a team. Some grounds like Newbridge are a few yards shorter.

Croke Park doesn't look any bigger than O'Connor Park when I have been there but some people seem to think it is much bigger than most other grounds and I would suspect this is because on TV the stands make Croke Park look massive and thus the pitch seems to look bigger
