Team Tipperary Telethon
This Sat Aug 11th Tipperary County Board will launch its “Team Tipperary” fundraiser inviting 1000 Tipperary GAA supporters to contribute €100 towards the costs of preparing our county teams.
To coincide with the launch a “Team Tipperary” Telethon will be held in Lár na Pairce from 2pm – 6pm where patrons can dial 0504-60040, talk to a GAA celebrity and pledge their €100 with payment by bankers card or through the Tipperary GAA web-site. In return for their €100 donation they will receive;
A complimentary pass to the 2012 Tipperary SH and SF Co Finals.
10% discount in the Tipperary GAA Shop Lar na Pairce during 2012.
Entry to a draw for 5 prizes of two All Ireland Hurling or Football Final tickets (if payment received before Sept 1st)
Our aim is to achieve the 1000 x €100 donations by targeting 200 in each division and 200 outside the county. With this in mind steering committees have been set up in each Division to drive this initiative to its eventual success.
We look forward to your support for the above and to the success of all Tipperary Teams in their quest for Munster and All Ireland glory.

Has this being done before in other Counties?
I probably will support the cause alright but would they have being better off to see how next weekend goes? The big draw to supporting the cause would be the prospect of All Ireland final tickets and if next wknd goes badly, what then?

Are the Tipp county board badly short of funds?
Incidentally, I think a telethon is a great idea for a fund-raiser. You can't 'bate' them Tipp lads for the clever ideas.

Victims of their own success - the idea behind this is to raise money towards the preparations of the various teams they have/had still involved in the different codes and grades for the remainder of the championships.
