Well done to the Cavan under 14 county hurling team who competed against Monaghan, Louth and Fermanagh Gaa in the Ulster GAA Cloghan Blitz 2012.

They defeated Louth and Fermanagh but were beaten by Monaghan, The main thing was all the teams enjoyed the day and improved their hurling... Thanks to Ronan McWilliams and Paul Divvily and all the Ulster Officers for coordinating and organising  the day.

Fair play to all involved. Lets hope they continue to do the Breffni county proud for years to come.

If ye ever need challenge games down in the Banner county at any level, just let us know, we'd also be happy to head up to Cavan.

Congrats again to all involved!

Well done lads, great to see hurling developing in that side of the country!

Hopefully we'll see Cavan develope into a stronger hurling county in later years. Keep the faith!

Seems that Seanie Johnston is not the only hurler in Cavan.

Well done to the young lads. Hope they all stay at it and bring back a senior team to Cavan

Wasn't one of the reasons they got rid of the senior team in Cavan so they could divert more of the effort towards promoting hurling at underage level in the county. There was a reasonable amount of sense to the idea at the time and looks like it might pay dividends

Have a re-read of the results-a little premature to be hailing what was a disgracefully veiled cost cutting exercise.

The fact that they are getting under 14s playing hurling is the big thing in this story. Also there were only about 60 adult hurlers in Cavan so an adult intercounty team was a bit pointless. If they follow through and increase playing numbers at underage level and this leads to an increase in adult hurlers the senior team will more than likely return
