I thought he looked tired and haggard today. I hope he doesn't put his health in jeopardy.
There's a fair amount of pressure in managing Cork!

i think today was bonus territory for cork, they've definitely progressed from the shambles in limerick last year.
having said that they are still a few years away from being genuine contenders. but JBM seems like a sensible man and i'd imagine he would walk if he felt it was affecting his health.

I'm surprised you'd start such a silly thread hitch. This was Galways day.

Cork are progressing, wouldn't think they're that many years away

After his first year in 1996 he survived a lot of knives and personal self doubt. Cork are in a far better place now than they were in 1996. He will bring back the McCarthy Cup to Cork.

Not sure he or Cork will get a better chance in the next 4 or 5 years than this year. Just my opinion but I think there was a 'Softish' All Ireland to be won this year as neither KK or Tipp are as strong as the were 2 or 3 years ago. I felt anyone of the chasing pack could sneak up on the rails to grab it this season.

Cork may be in a better position than 96 but 96 was a failed team. Forget 96. It was 99 when he threw a heap of u21's into the fray that they won the AI.

Cork are in a worse position than 99 surely.
In 99, Cork U21's were clearly the best underage team coming through. Today there are so many counties building up skillful young teams today (Galway, Kilkenny, Tipp, Clare, Limerick, Waterford, Dublin and Wexford). They can't all win All Irelands.

They are were they are, reaching an all ireland semi and a league final in JBMs first year. Thing is Clare, Waterford, Limerick, Dublin etc have all played their young players that graduated from these underage teams but Corks young players have proven themselves to be ahead of them on this years showings in matches which is where you judge.

No such thing as soft all irelands. End of. Everyone is hard earned. Cork are in a good place now in 1 year have have shown far more progression that many outside the county predicted when he took over.

I wouldn't go that far RR30, I reckon Limerick's and Clare's new young lads had more of an impact on their county teams this summer.
