Circa 41,000 people at the hurling today.
€40 a stand ticket.
I overheard that there was no child tickets left (I'm unsure on exactly how the child ticket system works!!)

Would the powers that be not think of introducing varied pricing in the stands whereby upper left would be cheaper than upper middle and lower middle etc.. In the Bernabeu and other stadia this seems to work.. We need to make our games more accessible to the masses. Todays game might of been littered with mistakes but the intensity at times was incredible..

We need to market our games better.. Half the stadium idle is a joke.. Tourists would love to see such an entertaining spectacle.. Perhaps a system whereby a discount upon production of a foreign passport might entice the tourists to see such enthralling encounters and thus providing enhanced global exposure..

I have no doubt they have done research regarding economies of scale and that but surely there is a better way whereby attendances are increased to the benefit of the croke park coffers, the county teams and ultimately the games itself.

Apropos of nothing - there was a fair few Americans sat in front of me - seemed to enjoy the proceedings! Agree re tiered pricing, but don't see it happening too soon. You get a great view in the top deck too, so you could wind up with a situation like in the Ireland games in Lansdowne, where there are more people in the cheap seats upstairs than below!
