It's really good I think, they've shown that the UK has had the most impressive spread of musical talent of all nations in the world. Unfortunately though, Ed Sheeran ruined "Wish You Were Here". I like the man, but it was a shocking version in fairness.

I just said the exact same thing and was told I was imagining it. Ronan Keating sounds half normal compared to that

Ronan Keating is said to be devastated that ex-wife Yvonne has found a new boyfriend.

The couple officially announced their split in April this year after the Boyzone singer cheated on the model with a dancer in 2010.

The pair had been married for 14 years.

Yvonne is now dating cameraman John Conroy, who she met in February on the set of upcoming movie 'Dark Touch', which stars her daughter Missy.

Are you for real?

The Yanks gave us Blues, Soul, Gospel, Jazz, CnW, Rock and Roll, Bluegrass, Dixieland and so on and you think the UK has an impressive spread of musical talent?

The Brits had some great bands but nothing original except boy band schite and electronica.

The Yanks ------- all over the Brits when it comes to music.

+1
And you can add Punk, Psychedelia, Rap/hip-hop, Western Swing, Conjunto/Tejano, Cajun/Zydeco to that.

The one thing the brits are good at is taking American music and repackaging it and selling it back to the Yanks.

In fairness, thought the Brits would just muddle through it and I was waiting for some chaos but they put on superb show from start to finish.
Being in same time zone as them meant we got to experience the best of it.

It was a great finish to a great Olympics. Luckily I got to a few events. The volunteers were brilliant over there. Well done London.

Agreed on the broad input to music in general, and you forgot hip hop also, but Britain undoubtedly had the best bands.

Closing ceremony was going along grand until Russell Brand appeared singing/miming. That was just bizare. They rolled out Jessie J then and it was over to the golf for me.

My point exactly. It's easy to name genres, but when it comes to artists that have had a massive impact on popular culture, the UK wins hands down.
