Sons of the west stand tall this evening.Ye kept the ancient game alive on yere own and while the cup did not travel west of the Shannon too many times in our lifetime the ould journey was still worthwile

They may have kept it alive in the west on their own , but in most of Munster and parts of Leinster and in up in the glens of Antrim they have played their part in keeping it alive as well.

After 3 in a row KK/Tipp finals it is god to see another team in the final , although they were cracking games I am sure the build up, hype etc was getting boring for the rest of the country coming up to each final.

There will at least be a bit of a freshness to this one.
