Type 'elvis unplugged' into YouTube to find out why the man never had and never will have any equals. Simply the King.

That's gonna come as a helluva shock to Ike Turner, Fats Domino & Ray Charles plus all the other real cool cats who had been keeping the Rythym 'n Blues scene alive for years before Elvis gave up the driving.

Having said that, Elvis was a heck of a Rocker.

Unfortunately washed away in the X Factor sewage before the youth of today could appreciate how good he really was. (Prior to 1960).

Of course it is an exaggeration. The phrase is a John Lennon quote referring to the mans greatness.

The day Elvis passed away John Lennon was also quoted with "Elvis died the day he joined the army", and i could see his point. He had great tunes in the 50's, spent the 60's being contracted to films, and i can't listen to his 70's stuff myself.

American version of Dicky Rock-had a few decent tunes before he ate himself to death but nothing to write home about. I like Viva Las Vegas for the novelty value-everything else he did was covers.

I always thought Lennon was a genius when it came to music but after reading Cynthia Lennons biography I realised that he was full of sh1t when it came to his musings

Sweet Jesus!! You're entitled to your opinion but a smart man knows when to keep his nonsensical ones to himself. To say he was nothing special is simply wrong.

Ah I get it, this is meant to be rib tickling banter. You say something outlandish to 'wind up' people and then sit back hands clasped to your mouth to stifle your laughter as people react. Good one.

Not really I just don't like his music-just because lots of people like his music doesn't mean everybody HAS to like his music. Obesely overweight karaoke singer by the end-shpit on me dickie.

I've just celebrated Elvis's memory by having a Big Mac with extra cheese while sitting on the toilet.

Of course you don't have to like his music, that's personal taste but you said he was nothing special which is plainly rubbish. You wouldn't have to like classical music to accept Mozart had talent would you?

Well he was nothing special to me put it that way. Good showman and he was pretty for the ladies but he was just singing other people's songs really. Can see why people would like him but not my cup of tae.

Elvis was the King of Pop. And like any great King, he died on the throne.

That's a good description of the sound that came from the bathroom when he toppled over. I hope for his sake that the facilities were better than at Cusack Park. That would have been a real case of dying in squalor.
