Just a suggestion so as not to be clogging up the place with dozens of stories and threads for the next 9 months, how about each club gets one thread and anything you want to post goes into a certain thread???
That way I dont think anyone can complain one way or another. If you want to talk soccer you can, and if you dont, then at least the place wont be taken over with thread after thread on Van Persie transfer news, court injunctions or what Rooney had for breakfast.

In an ideal world that would work but it would descend into chaos in no time with all the fighting and b!tching. At least by keeping a thread to a certain club, by right it should only be fans who follow that club who post in it

I'd prefer if people would refer to the compettion by its proper name - the Barclays Premier League. Barclays have put serious money into the game - only for them and Sky there would be no football.

The last of your problems is people talking about Leeds.

If you see a thread title that you don't like, why not just ignore it ...or are you just a disappointed high-viz jacket man?

Simply because the site went to sh!t last year with every little gossipy story getting a thread so they are impossible to ignore. And remember, there was a vote taken recently which resulted in the majority wanting soccer taken from the site completely. So be grateful for small mercies and keep the soccer talk to a minimum

Some of the lads admitted they voted numerous times ...so that's that scuppered!

Work away. You might as well get it up and running before tomorrow night's first match

A single thread would only end up with two or three lads arguing with each other and nobody would be bothered reading thru pages and pages of shít to find something mildly relevant. The NFL thread is only for lads at home drinking cans on a sunday night and commenting live on individual plays, completely pointless although i found myself in that position on the night of the NFC championship game and was joining in. As was said here during the inquisition last year, soccer is not the problem, it's just a few deluded clowns who actually seem sensible enough when discussing other topics. If something interesting is happening i'm all for a new thread.

I don't hate soccer but I don't come on here to see thread after thread about some random game/signing/scandal/sending off/throw in/tactics rubbish. I realise in the winter this site struggles to keep up the GAA chat but the endless soccer threads are byond dull.
So I'm going to start the ball rolling and set up a Luton thread.
