Collins coin

The €10 coin costs €48 and the €20 coin costs €50.

A boxed set of both coins costs €95.

Collins was the Minister for Finance .... a man from Irish Freedoms golden era! I wonder what Collins would think of todays leaders?

Firstly. The blueshirts don't exist anymore.

Secondly. How would one go about ordering these coins?

I'm afraid you're wrong there.

However, I'm trying to contact the Central Bank to place an order for the set.

Can't get through, however.

Shaggin' place must be manned exclusively by Labour Party "workers".

Am fairly sure its that Labour Party shower trying to sabotage this.

All they would have to offer in competition would be someone like Joe Higgins (before he jumped ship).

You can print off an order form from the CB website and fax it in. According to the RTE website there were hundreds queuing on the street in Dublin today.

Yeah, but we're discussing The Labour Party.

He was.
Fine Gael was only set up well after Collins' death.

I've never understood the way FG are so keen to associate themselves with Collins, he's about as far from a Fine Gaeler as you could imagine. Cringeworthy stuff.

The Blueshirts as an association may be gone but their sentiment including anti labour, anti union persists in their successors

Ah touchy embittered Anyone but FF. Funny you call FF a party of traitors when we are discussing a topic on the arch traitor of all.

Wha? They're not Dev Memmorial coins.

I had one of these in the hand yesterday-the gold one is about the size of your fingernail on your little finger. The silver one is nice and it comes in a nice box-grand if you have the €95 to spare.

Why does a party that came into existence more than 10 years after Collins death claim him as their spiritual founder?

Their first leader was about as far removed from Michael Collins as you could wish for.

Its not as though FG are in anyway Irish republicans despite the lip service they pay to it. I daresay Collins would spin in the proverbial.

It seems to irk some people that while Fine Gael can look on Collins, WT Cosgrave and Garret Fitzgerald, Fianna Fail have Dev, CJ Haughey and Brian Cowen.
