For me, Paul Murphy was the best man on the field yesterday. Tannion got MOM, but i thought Murphy was a class apart in both halves. While KK were under the cosh in the first half he was on top for them.
I think he has way too much hurling to be playing corner back, would he be an option for midfield at all? I thought the main reason Tannion got through so much work yesterday was due to him having such a physical advantage over R Hogan.
Could Murphy & Fennelly at midfield in the replay be an option for KK?

can't see cody going with the same midfield for the replay
why wasn't Cillian Buckley not put on, they could have moved out Kieran Joyce and brought on Richie Doyle i thought cody was slow enough on the line only made 1 sub with about 3 players that could have been sub in the second half.

There's been a lot of talk about how good Murphy was in the second half, but he was immense in the first half too making a few vital interceptions. If I remember correctly he didn't even get a mention in the dicussion concerning MOTM on the Sunday Game last night

Huge gamble. Looks like he could handle himself at midfield alright but without him in the corner yesterday Galway would have won pulling up.
Re midfield, Cody need to put a rocket under Fennelly's a**e. Second best all day yesterday. On the flip side, Cody knws if he gets close to his best for replay, KK have the beating of Galway.

Hogan was lost midfield and could add more firepower closer to goal. Cody seems reluctant to throw lads in unless they have a bunch of AI medals in their pocket already (most of the subs probably do). KK were short Eddie Brennan and Hogan from last years forward line and it showed.
Murphy is a fine hurler, a future centre back .

Completely agree Murphy was my MOTM, couldn't believe he wasn't even nominated on sunday game. Think untimately he will be Hogan's successor at centre back. Strictly speaking he was operating as a corner back yesterday as he was man marking David Burke so spent most of the time out on the half back line anyway.

murphy had a great game (all through) but tannion deserved his m.o.m award. he was brilliant from start to finish tannion was by far the best midfielder on view and imo that was the best display by a midfielder in an ai in a long time.(in a close game)

Thought Jackie Tyrrell was brilliant for KK he has been there most consistent player all year extremely rare he has bad game for KK. Murphy was very good and Henry Shefflin must surely be the greatest sportsperson this country has he is phenomenal. Johnny Coen for Galway yesterday was great even though he shud have got a second yellow!!! Side note and the Subsay Game weeper wrong I think when skehill lied on the ball it shud hav been a penalty as it was in the small square.

+1
Certainly the best I've seen in my lifetime. Dragged his team back in the game yesterday when a few around him went missing.
Surprised he didn't go for goal with penalty but then again I don't have 8 AI medals.

I wonder if Fennelly is carrying that injury that he seemed to pick up in the warm-up the last day.
