What we do
‘An Fear Rua – The GAA Unplugged!’ provides an online discussion forum on Gaelic games topics. In our ‘Content Zone’ we provide high quality analysis and humorous features on Gaelic games. Current GAA news items are also carried on the site’s home page.

We recognise that Users like to discuss other sports and comment on topics besides sport.

Our ‘Speak Out!’ forum is divided into three sections:
Gaelic Games        (this includes handball, rounders and International Rules as well as hurling, camogie and Gaelic football       (including women’s     )           .
Other Sports
Other Topics

Topics in the three forums are aggregated into a common forum called All Topics.

When you are starting a topic you are given the option of which forum you wish to post to.

The forums are for the use and enjoyment of Visitors and Users. Therefore, An Fear Rua will not normally start Topics in any of the forums or add comments to existing Topics.

A Site Administrator may post the following Topics:
- Informational notices about the site for the benefit of Visitors and Users.
- updete s about new feature articles in the `Content Zone`
- Official GAA announcements
- Items from other media sources that may be of interest to Users.

We request Users to respect the function of each forum. This makes it easier for Visitors and Users to find Topics. Topics started in an inappropriate forum will be transferred to the appropriate forum. A User who persists in starting Topics in an incorrect forum will be asked to stop but may have their User privileges withdrawn if they continue.

"You further agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this forum."

Peter Robinson  (and others )  regularly breaches this condition by not crediting his sources and he isn`t banned.

Why not?

It seems as though AFR has an a la carte approach to which of his own conditions he chooses to enforce.

Also, Gershwin was banned even though he didn`t breach any condition. T_de_B simply asked AFR to ban him and it was done.

BTW, I actually agree with the banning of such an obvious WUM as Gershwin. I just wish such a criterion for banning was applied more consistently. Then we wouldn`t have the scenario of a guy from Tipp pretending to be an Ulster Unionist.

I am with AFR on this one. I know of a well known person who has been continually criticised on these type of forums and he was able to establish that practically all were coming from the one quarter but under different pseudonmyns. He had the matter investigated and it seems it was possible to track the culprit. I do not know if he pursued the individual but heed what AFR says.

AFR himself breaks the above copyright rule - many of the FOGRA noticed he puts out are copyright material. I would say half of the topics on this forum contain copyright material. Stupid.

Look it Lads,
It`s quite simple really.
If you don`t want to or won`t agree to abide by the terms & conditions, then surely don`t sign up in first place.
If you do sign up & then decide not to abide & obey the sites` terms & conditions, then you can`t exactly complain if your` User Priveliges are revoked as a consequence.
Na dean dearmad but that registration is free to all so consequently the cost burden of running the bulletin board is entirely with Mr.AFR Himself.
So IF there is a ban on somebody that you disagree with, tough nuts to you.
Its` his` site & is run & governed by him alone.
In the same circumstance as there`d be no point harranging the referee on the pitch or the judge & jury in a trial when the decision goes against you, it`s the same here.
If you don`t like it don`t sign up.
If you don`t like it anymore, LEAVE!
No one forces anyone to be on or stay here so come in & take a seat or close door on way out.
