Almost every single utterance he`s ever made about refereeing
or/and the rules of the game has been wrong!

he loves kilkenny....and he especially loves Tommy Walshe.
He`s prob as bad as Brolly who loves to praise Tyrone Armagh Derry etc when he gets going on KK.

Mike has two senior All Ireland medals.
Read `em and weep, children.
How many have youse lot?
Now, ask yourselves truthfully, who knows most about hurling.
On that great Offaly team,
Troy and Johnny Dooley were the magicians
Whelehan was the stylist
Pilkington was its soul
and
Duignan was its cutting edge (Ask Kilkenny if I`m wrong ) .

Whatever........This doesn`t change that he is a chronic analyst mainly due to his bias and love affair with KK.
We all respect them for the great team they are but he just brings it to another extreme.
By the way he didn`t stay too long in his role as select or with Offaly did he???? a year I think it was. A good hurler he was alright

He is a f**ying jenit. I think hes marginally retarded. He nevers gets calls right and he is obsessed with Kilkenny and Tommy Walsh in particular.
I recall the AI last year when the Angel Walsh brought a hurley full force down on Pat Tobin`s shoulder. He said "ah yea Pat made the most of that injury there now".
A joke.

I think he`s good telly. Ok I wouldn`t ask him to be my best man but as TdB says the man has two AI`s and sat on the same team bus as some of the greatest players we`ve enjoyed over the last 15 - 20 years.
I think he`s earned some respect.
Besides, by the looks of things around here, we may need him, his howlers and his entertainment as discussion pieces before long.

Not quite....
He was right last year about the referee in the A.I. and some of totally biased decisions against Kilkenny and he was correct to state that it was not the referee`s `right` to try and make a match of it.
Also he spotted that Shefflin had `flicked` the sliothar to the net (for Kilkenny`s 2nd goal ) when his co-commentator was puzzled over whther you could hand-pass the ball to the net or not!!!
He was also honest enough to `clear` Mullane after the incident between Mullane / Curran last year where it loooked like Mullane was `feigning` injury but the camera showed he had got a root into the guts from Curran.
He made a big mistake last year with regards to Waterford and forgetting a certain semi-final against Limerick but shure didn`t Waterford also forgot they had a game also....

It`s laughable to state that Duignan has any `love` for Kilkenny, I cite his playing career against us as proof.
If you want a `love-in` just listen to Donal O` Grady, Cregan etc talking about Munster hurling for puke inducment.

A joke.
When the replay was shown, he did state that it was a free and the `tackle. was high - he makes spur of the moments comments (trying to follow as fast a game as hurling ) and gets some initially wrong......grounds for hanging allright..

I`m always amazed by the amount of critical comment Duignan attracts. I think he`s very good, makes a lot of comments that others would be afraid to and is generally quite incisive which is badly needed foil to Canning`s aimless meanderings. Compared to the lazy analysis offered by clowns like Mulcahy, Finnerty and Farrell, he`s a breath of fresh air.
Actually, in retrospect, I`m not amazed. Most people round here have massive chips on their shoulders. In fact provoking negative comment in these environs is probably something to be admired. It`s become quite clear over the course of many discussions that a lot of people on this board don`t like him because he cracked David Forde across the midriff in a match that was nearly 10 years ago. And got away with it.
