Absolute disgrace how he can continue after Q&A last night, the way hes talking u`d swear he was in opposition for the past 10 years...He did it last year when he criticsied the HSE, what planet are these lads living on, is he too busy sorting out favours for his constituents that he can`t do his ministerial job....

No I didnt. The man has given great service to the West Of Ireland down through the years.
He will be number 1 on every ballet paper west of Knocknacarra. Don`t blame him for the problems in Dublin.

When Kevo says "is he too busy doing favours for his constituents that he can`t do his ministerial job", the ideal comeback is not to say how great he has been for the west of Ireland.
Nor did kevo mention any problems specifically in Dublin or anywhere else, he`s taking a government minister to task for the collective failures of the FF/PD regimes, something the voters never seem to do.

An illustration of one of the problems of Irish politics. The local man looking after the locals. Before I am asked what is wrong with it, imo it is immoral in the extreme when a local politician can swing tricks for those that will vote for him. In case you missed it the money belongs to all of us. In too many cases ministers have given huge amounts of money to clubs in their areas. Is this coincidence, I do not think so? John B. Keane called it cutehoorism.

Well when O`Cuiv says changes need to be made, and things werent done right in the past, i find it sickening, he is in power, and yet last night on Q&A was speaking like a member of FG!!!

Don`t agree with you at all long Danny, why do elect local T.D`s, to represent us but you are probably morally correct about seeing the bigger picture and inflicting pain in the short term for the greater good
Not a massive fan of O`Cuive but then I do feel rural Ireland is poorly represented, I`m probably on of the few that like Michael Healy Rea and his father but I find them true representatives of rural Ireland. Who was it that said `` those civil servants have no idea how we live in the country``
Billy Kean also very good

Kevo oul` shtock.
You`re brainless as well as ignorant (and I mean ignorant in its true sense as distinct from its use by juviniles as a put down ) .
You quite obviously know absolutely nothing about Eamonn O`Cuív, or indeed much else, if your post is anything to go by.
Try developing opinions based on actuality as distinct from the politically biased ráiméis you develope by osmosis.

Was it just me or did Eamon O Cuiv come across on Q&A as a bit of a simpleton? Maybe it`s just the way he talks, I don`t know.

He puts on a real patronising air when speaking, like hes actually got something worth listening to, when asked why Obama would get paid less than Cowen, he said it was the market that dictated these things.....
N.B.It was either O Cuiv or Martin Cullen that said it, on mature recollection...

Well if he is a "simpleton" I would love to know how far he would get if he was smart. For a "simpleton" he hasn`t done too badly for himself.

Look how far George W Bush came, with family connections, he gets votes as Devs grandson and doing local favours etc, the guy is completely inept, i would say if anyone was Devs grand son and not a complete f**k up they`d get elected, you only have to look at Liam Cosgraves son for an example of how many chances people get at cracking it, far more than the average party member, unfortunately that is the reality...

Being Dev`s grandson couldn`t have hurt either, no? In fairness to him he`s removed the English place names from roadsigns in the Gaeltacht so at least he`s making a difference in people`s lives.
Anyway, I didn`t say he WAS a simpleton, I just said that he CAME ACROSS as a simpleton.

Lads, I think you are being a bit harsh on Kevo on this one. I saw Q&A on monday night and I would side with Kevo on this. I thought he was exceptionally weak and didn`t raise a substantial arguement at any stage. He had a gormless look to him all night and certainly wouldn`t inspire any confidence whatsoever in me. I couldn`t comment on his input into local politics but I assume that like all politicians he is well able maintain his core vote.
