So close and yet so far for Munster tonight. I don`t think O`Driscoll should have been penalised to give away the field position that yielded the winning score for New Zealand. The ref was on the wrong side of the ruck and the ball appeared to be out.

Great game. Warwick had a bit of a brainfart kicking the ball away like that after the ref said time was up. They could still have tried to work a penalty or a drop  goal attempt.

Absolutely outstanding performance from munster. I was worried b4 the game that they mite get hammered by over 30 points but they were unreal. Warwick and ronan in the 1st half were brilliant, and o`driscoll and dowling in the second. Best iv seen stringer play in years. And the athmosphere was electric, right from the start when the 4 munster lads did the haka, hair risin on the back of the neck kinda thing. The nz fly half donald had a nightmare of a game.

Great game alright. That number 8 got man of the match.

It was a special occasion, from the Air Core bringing in the match ball, the emotion on some of of the faces of the 78 team before the kick off. The roar the four lads got for the haka and the silence afforded the New Zelanders when they were performing theirs. The performance, bravery and intensity shown by the Munster players was a joy to watch and they were so unlucky in the end.

Great to see the All Blacks come out and do a lap of honour and appreciate the fans and the occassion that it was.

Great that the Air Corps can waste taxpayers money in that charade . recession and all. For a Munster team that is at least one third foreign. And Thomond Park looked well -built by a lavish helping of your tax money,I would suspect.

I could be wrong but very little if any tax payers money went into Thomond park.....Also it was all local companies that built the stadium, the likes of Hegarty`s and Bourke`s but don`t let the facts get in the way of your begrudgery and ignorance....

Hard luck Munster - you nearly beat the New Zealand "C" team again.

And the architects company is based in Limerick.

I am normally in the terrace at Thomond but I "upgraded" my season ticket for a stand ticket tonight but getting out afterwards was chaotic. There is a serious bottleneck behind the stand where the upper and lower decks meet. It`s actually crazy what they have done whereby thousands of people arrive at an opening thats approx 5 people wide and all try to get out together.

Wouldn.t like to have to get out of there in a hurry.

Outstanding night there all the same. Atmosphere was up there with all the big HEC nights.

"great effort by the Munster lads" - jaysus, nearly half of the starting line up were not even born in Munster. I suggest you buy a few more All Blacks and one day you might even beat the All Blacks B team.

I`m not a rugby man but still think that`s a fabulous result. There is no such thing as a bad NZ team. In fact leading up to the world cup they said that the best two teams in the world were the NZ A and B team.

Anyone who doesn`t appreciate the enormous performance put in by Munster play all their sport on a keyboard and wouldn`t know what it`s like to put in a bit of dedication and heart. I`d guess that every Limerick hurler would have been roaring on the Muster team last night as they`d have an understanding of what was involved in performing like that.

Pity other Irish sportsmen and teams couldn`t play with the intensity, intelligence, skill and sheer determination as shown this year by Munster, Kilkenny and Padraig Harrington .

God bless Joseph Rokocoko.

That try prevented another f*****g play being brought out.

Maybe they`ll be going on about this for the next thirty years in New Zealand how they won a mickey mouse meaningless game between two second/third string teams......

What about Tyrone?

Hard luck Munster. So close...but that`s sport. Munster always give it all on the pitch - you have to admire them for that.

an incredible performance form munster. they should really have won it. two crazy decisions at crucial moments cost them.
mafis decision to come out of the line for rokokokos try made a secure defence into a shambles and warwicks decision to kick the ball instead of simply keeping it in hand and trying to engineer a penalty.

both minor quibbles though on a night when munster were immense.

i could not be considered a munster fan by any stretch of the imagination but last night has to be recognised.

ps don`t feed the trolls on the topic or it will spoil it.

Thank f**========= they lost. We`d never hear the end of it!

Were there any Limerick boys playing?

That Munster Haka face-off was just embarrassingly pathetic.

Visalia, you haven`t a clue.

Great to see the begrudgers are alive and well.

I`d say you probably had a few old suits down in the Gaelic grounds having a meeting about the colour of the training bibs, (just to have a meeting, anything but turn on the telly or acknowledge what was going on up the road )  with black curtains over the windows and ear muffs on:
"No!No! should we have blue or red bibs. no! leave off the radio martin. leave it off! I`m complaining about all those cars parked on the footpath to the gardai now.!"

I had a Maori over in my house last night for the game i asked him what he thought of Munster still going on about beating the all blacks and he thought that it was great that they still keep the spirit alive of that game.He thought that it was great that there was such passion for the game in Munster.  (i didnt bother to mention the Magner league to him and that I think its pants that they still go on about it ) .
I said that Munster will get hammered by the all blacks second team and he said that this is no second team and that all of that starting team would walk onto any other team. He couldnt believe that the 4 lads did a haka first and thought it was class as they laid down the challenge first and the all blacks had to respond to that challenge.

Exciting game that was full of mistakes.
