I finally saw it, that piece of televisual presentation that has had the masses stupefied. A lesson in how not to do the thing it most surely was, and by God let’s hope the lesson has been learned. De Scribe has barely recovered from a recent piece of GAA coverage on TV....

Like other contributors on this site, De Scribe doesn`t hold back in his` criticism of Trevor Welch & rightly-so.
All that`s involved is a couple of sheets of paper with maybe an indication of last time they met x or y in the Championship, a scoreline/result and the odd fact thrown in just to give the draw some variety.
Most GAA supporters no matter whether they`re into football, hurling, camoige, ladies` football, handball, rounders or Scor would in all honesty know something about the other sports involved & could come up with a quick ditty on recent performances etc. or who`s current manager & who they recently managed etc.
It`s not rocket science & given the plethora of media coverage available both current & archived, unless you`re an anti-sport or anti-GAA person, you`ll know something about most counties in football or hurling certainly.

There is too much GAA coverage on TV, its disgraceful the coverage it gets on BBC for a minority sport. Nationalists I have spoken to don`t even like it, in my opinion they feel compelled to watch the dross due to some misplaced sense of nationalism. Not to mention the terrorist connection in the GAA. In any case, football is a far superior sport.
