Watching game on TG4 7 Paul Galvin clearly hit referee Rory Hickey in last min of normal time. Ref bottled it. Will he ever learn

It certainly looked like it - I`d like to see a replay of it, though.

He wont get away with that, the next few days will be interesting. He could be looking at a very big ban if he gets done for it.

to me it looked as if he swung a hand in the direction of the referee and made contact with the referee`s back.

would need to see it again but i do not believe my eyes deceived me

My first impression was `you bloody eegit`. He was unhappy at some decesion and tried to grab him or something. Absolutely stupid. As slaneysider said, will he ever learn?

The ref deserved it.

Cant understand how little understanding refs have of football and the way it is played...

It was obvious that the Dublin lads were going in late and giving verbals and trying to stop Kerry getting on with the free...yet the referee, rather than penalise the Dublin players immediately, waits for one of the kerry lads to retaliate and then decides to act on it...

He definitely took at least one swing at the ref and id be amazed if he didnt get loads of s**e for it...

In my opinion though, all this posturing and bulls**e with late hits and holding onto lads jerseys in little scuffles after every free is given is ruining the game...

Too bloody right. Referees are runing the game. The sooner they`re played without them, the better!

I was watching that. He definetely swung at the referee but the contact might have been slight as the referee was moving.
Even though Kerry will talk down the game as of no long term importance there was still signs of the Kerry thuggishness when they weren`t getting it all their own way

How log do we have to wait for a character reference from Mick Galway and a sympathetic article from T Humphries.

look get over the fact that kerry are as dirty and hard as any other team that has won an all ireland and let cork impose themselves physically on them in croke park.

when Nicholas Murphy was taken out in last years all ireland final not one cork player layed a finger or a shoulder on Kenneally. they just about stopped short of patting kenneally on the back. Kenneally went through the rest of the game and scarcely even shipped a legimate shoulder charge from a cork player. where was the one for all, all for one attititude when there is a strike to be organised or a manager to be got rid off??

what was the worst thing that could have happened if a cork player hit kenneally a shoulder after he clocked murphy or came in and clocked kenneally??? kenneally and cork player booked or both red carded. either way it would have been even stephen afterwards.

and before kenneally gets hung, drawn and quartered, niall cahalane took many a man out of a game.

it could be saucy enough in pairc ui rinn next saturday night. could do with a few of the o`shea`s back!!

I`d agree with you to a degree, but Cork were under pressure about going over the line with the physical stuff after the Tyrone game. Also the ref laid it on the line before the game that the third man in would be sent off.

I can see the Kerry fools rounding up to protect him again. Its hilarious. Jesus when i heard to tool say how "everybody knows how badly he was treated in 2008" it made my blood boil. He learnt absolutely nothing from it. Himself and JO`C were still going on about how it was Russell`s fault even after the last AI final. I wouldn`t be sad to see the book thrown at him this time.

I agree with you - cork should have gone in and decked him. while cork are a big physical team we must develop that nasty streak that tyrone had to beat kerry. still as bad as cork played last september we could still have snatched it.

i would get rid of donnacha o`connor to be honest. don`t think he has it for the big occasion.

I had sunday sports on radio 1 on most of the evening. the incident wasnt mentioned whilst i had the radio on. it will be interesting to see what kind of coverage it gets on the six one sports news.

God God men this man is Player of the Year

Give him some respect, if he wants to take a swing at some upstart of a referree why shouldn`t he?

More sinned against than sinning.

Ye have it out for him so ye do

I saw it and I like everyone thought "you silly eejit!" but the Ref didn`t make anything of it, he did turn and acknowledge what he`d done but no cards or booking. It was over fairly quickly. I don`t think anything will be made of it, but it was a very very stupid thing to do.
